Nothing wrong with CGI, but films that use a greater proportion of practical effects (like Ex Machina and The Shape of Water) are a welcomed departure from that trend. It also keeps down production costs.

The greatest CGI I've seen in my opinion, is in James Cameron's Avatar. More than 7, 000 people worked on its special effects post production. And it is truly increadble how much effort went into that film.

Too bad I couldnt watch all the way through Arrival and Mockingjay Part 2. Just horrible dreary movies. I stuck through Blade Runner in several sittings. They need to make better sci-fi.

What was up with the water in the tunnel scene early in Justice League? The water was gushing in, yet apparently not fast enough to catch up with someone who was limping.

Your pronunciation of some of these titles is cringe! Machina and Okja/Mija Im pretty sure were wrong! Machina is ma-key-na, Okja is O-kya and Mija is Mi-ya, isnt it?

Avatar in 3D was spectacular. No wonder people are waiting 2, 3, 4 hours just to experience Pandora in Disney's Avatar land.

say what you will about BVS
the visual effects were great. srry I cant say the same about Justice league's Superman's face

Passengers made 303 million worldwide. So I don't know where you got the idea that they didn't recoup the 110 million budget.
