5 Best And 5 Worst Things About Solo: A Star Wars Story
video description
If you are complaining about how the movie wasn't as interesting as they were in the others were, maybe consider the factors that might play into this. For example: The characters that were reintroduced are YOUNGER and they therefore don't have the same background like how they did when we were first introduced to them in the previous movies.
The plot was fine. It's a Star Wars movie, not one that is trying to generate Oscar buzz. I know it might hurt your feelings, but the previous Star Wars movies are iconic, and that doesn't mean that they were the greatest movies ever made. They made its audience experience the world of Star Wars. These movie are meant to provide some depth behind this world and therefore change your view of it. If it makes you, dare I say, dislike this world altogether, that's the point.
These movies try to show the imperfections to this universe so stop nitpicking at the fact that it didn't make you feel that rush of adrenaline like when you first saw these movies. Maybe consider the fact that these movies have to reach high expectations, since the originals were way ahead of its time, and that these ones being released are meant to reintroduce a new generation for this franchise and that it is what it is: a movie.

The Kessel Run should never have come to the screen. It's part of the Han Solo mythos. Many beings across the galaxy know of him because of it. He's always remained defensive about the accomplishment; don't get it wrong if you mention it to him. Years after having helped the rebellion bring down the Empire, it still seems to be the one thing he's most personally proud of. It's one of those events which would have remained bigger, grander, and more dramatic in our imaginations than anything you could put on screen. Not to mention that in this telling, Han is but one of several people working together to make it successfully through the shortcut. I had always imagined this as his event - made possible by mad skills, guts, and a good bit of luck.

I was disappointed the day the trailer released. The people they casted for Lando and Han really disappointed me. It looked really bad. And its good to know that it isnt selling well. Its terrible to release a Star Wars movive 5 or so months after the most recent installment which wasnt bad Imo. They shouldnt have rushed this and shouldnt have done a terrible job casting. Im not gonna bother seeing the movie in theaters because there's no point to. I'll rent the damn thing at Redbox. There are better movies to see. Now if they took their time and say released it in November fine. But man. This looks like trash. Its Sad when Revenge of the Sith that came out in the early 2000s looks better than this garbo.

Ive loved Han Solo from the beginning, hes always been that needed character who completed the original trio nicely.
That being said. why are we creating all of these universes? (Sorry Marvel, although you do a fine job) There was the Darth Vader story, which briefly tied in Luke and Leia. Now a Han backstory, then we get Obi-Wan, maybe Boba Fett, what about the barkeep on Tatooine? The other pilots with Luke? What about how R2-D2 & C3PO spent their years before the war? Dont get me wrong, I liked SOLO just fine (except the Wookie-speak, but where does it end?
Sometimes just because you CAN make a movie doesnt mean you SHOULD.

I didn't agree with most of your worst comments. And your final comment about why the story needed to be told? Why not? Did you say the same about Rogue One? I always thought they should have hinted at Han Solo in Episode III, even if it was just an Easter egg.
The reason they needed a Solo movie is because Disney bought it and needs to make their money back.
My opinion on the worst thing about Solo was the ambiguity of where it fit in the timeline. This actor looked older than Harrison Ford in Ep IV, so how much time passed between Qi'ra dumping him to So, do you think a Princess and a guy like me. ..

The only reason they made this was to please fans and to try to keep the franchise alive by using characters from the originals and the best as well as fan favorite from the prequels(Darth Maul). It is clear that after The last Jedi Disney realized that they cant move forward (sequels )or back(prequels) for both were flops so now they are trying to expand on the original, still within the time of the empire yet they failed yet again. The only reason they are doing this is sadly money. They are trying so badly to make a big success to make a profit from it

They are playing younger versions of the characters after all, so you should have expected them to be a bit off from originals, with time things change, your personality and shit, this takes like 10-15 years before the new hope, idk why you fools were expecting them to be all mature and shit cause Han is in his late teens in here basically, seriously guys, you all need to chill. It wasn't bad as the last jedi. It was a better star wars movie and it even felt like one.

I cannot for the life of me understand the whole argument of how these films need to 'justify their existence' or worse yet the 'I didn't ask for this movie so I'm not going to like it'. People so short sighted thinking because we got this movie first it meant no Fett or Kenobi. We could have had a scoundrel anthology with Maul/Kenobi/Fett but all the 'fans' chucked their toys out of the cot and now we will just get the overblown trilogies, thanks guys.

I really liked this video's take on it. It wasn't needlessly negative and noticed the things that were definitely great about the film. The twists at the end were great and really tied it in to the rest of the world. Darth Maul's cameo as leader of the crimson dawn was fantastic as it perfectly sets up the Obi-Wan movie. Now that we know in the film universe that Maul is alive, we know that he'll have it in for Obi-wan who will need to deal with him.

Lando was one of my favorite original characters but I wasn't impressed by Glover like everyone is hyping. He was fine but nothing stellar and did not steal the show. His droid was annoying and should have been one of the worsts. Overall I liked the movie a lot. I liked that it just showed a different side of the galaxy. Not everything in star wars is high stakes space opera so it's nice to have a movie that reflects that.
