Why Disney Refuses To Release National Treasure 3 Red: National Treasure movies are exiting, you learn obscure US history facts (that we either learned or should remember as not to repeat history again, there is clean humor, no raunchy scenes, and there are lots of cool hacks thanks to Riley - what's not to love? The original cast has to be in the 3rd, with possibly an undercover FBI/CIA hacker girlfriend for Riley. . and yes, Nick Cage the actor has to pay his bills and take what jobs he can, but he is still the only Ben Gates out there in my opinion)
Golly - page 47 could be the White House tunnels to the Treasury Building and beyond. all under the capital. the relative of Bonaparte who started the FBI (- that is a bit odd, isn't it? Have Ben needing to break into the FBI information right under Sadusky's nose). the Smithsonian labyrinth. the Lincoln Memorial (why is it so huge? What is hidden inside the building). or any of Washington DC's memorials, for that matter. clues everywhere. The treasure needn't end up being another City of Gold, but a National Treasure of democracy. freedom of speech. information. intangible things we often take for granted. OR it could lead to an actual treasure right under everyone's noses again.
Come on, Disney and Bruckheimer! How does yet more Star Wars repeating of the same theme, or comic book character movies waring yet again, or another round of the Pirates hallucinations and cannibals do anything for those of us patiently waiting for something actually GOOD to see? Sheesh. no wonder our country is going down the drain.

The critical aversion doesnt feel like a legit reason for why this film isnt being made. The studio only cares about the box office success, just look at the Transformers and Star Wars films. Even Bad Boys isnt that critically acclaimed but yet its getting a sequel.
On the subject of a story and historical accuracy, I feel that this is the kind of story you let slide when it comes to messing with history. As long as it isnt disrespect, we can look past it.
I would love a treasure hunt that reveals that Julius Casaer was murdered because he on the verge of discovering a hidden treasure that would have made him more powerful. Or a hunt that reveals that Meriwether Lewis was killed because of a conspiracy to find something. Theres a ton of things they can go with.

1. Jerry Bruckheimer has seen far busier days. It's not like he's physically on set being the script supervisor. He hires players and approves gameplans, then negotiates with the studio on resources.
2. Plenty of starving screenwriters out there. Someone can surely crack an intriguing historical mystery as a starting point for a premise.
3. Professional criticism for art is a farce. See The Deer Hunter and The Last Jedi for proof.
4. Cage's whole career is weird and wacky, that's a major component to his appeal.
5. Disney's near monopoly of mega hit franchises only means they can all the more easily afford to take chances on cultivating more diverse properties. So godamnit I want my JOHN CARTER OF MARS SEQUEL!

All of us who love those films want a third and have for years! Forget the critics! Ive never read a full critic review in my life because most of them have nothing to say that is relevant to the viewers and have no power to affect our opinion of things. I almost always love the films the critics hate and hate the ones they love so why do I care what they think? My only thing is I dont want the 3rd unless the original cast comes back! Not just Nicholas Cage but all of them! At least the trio, Nic, Diane, and Justin! If they dont all come back then I dont think I could watch it. But I want the movie! We all do Disney!

Jerry Bruckheimer: I'd like to produce a third National Treasure movie!
Disney: Can we do a partial rewrite, where Abigail, who has already been proven to be an intelligent and capable heroine in her own right, is the one who solves all the clues and Ben and Riley are rewritten as bumbling, incompetent fools who do nothing to advance the story, and in fact, hinder it?
Jerry Bruckheimer: .No.
Disney: Next!

I never want to see a NT3. You know why? Because it will be Disney controlled and they are ruining every series they've bought, even there own. Here's what I predict if they do a NT3. His blonde girlfriend will have, once again, broke up with him and will be dating a black guy. And they'll also introduce some kind of gay/transgender element into the movie. When/If they do NT3, remember who called it. me.

At 2: 00: Scrolls of Alexandria. I believe that traveling scrolls may have been what synagogues were all about. Judaism/Christianity/Islam was about bringing agrarian people together for What truth. The film's popularity was not so much about fabulous treasure so much as about people's believing in forever. .. no matter what shape civilization might be enduring. The script needs to fit. ..

Disney probably figures that they just don't have enough talent on board to pull off a third film of the same caliber as the first two - so they don't want to gamble the money and risk a flop - sad though. very few films these days are worth watching, and National Treasures rank right along with Indiana Jones films - among those which are classics and lasting IMO

Sadly I have seen and enjoyed alot of Nic cage movies in the past few years but every single one of them was on DVD so I guess they have a point about his box office numbers but I think it's the movie theater's are to blame here and not Nic. Examples Joe, Mandy and mom and dad are all great movies I rented all of them I don't think movie theater's were even playing them.

National Treasure is a 100% American film. Disney and critics are full of a lot of globalists - socialists. The last scene of the 2nd movie, as I remember it, seemed to lay the groundwork for a 3rd film. I think the real America would love to see another 10 movies like National Treasure. Is there a way which real Americans can git r done and bypass the socialists.
