Blade Runner was a movie that appeared to have no opening for a sequel, but they pulled it off well. Imo Tron: Legacy worked well too, but why they never showed Tron's face when his user was in the movie as well makes no sense.
ID4 had a very effective advertising campaign that built up a lot of hype and anticipation for the movie. However, the movie didn't deliver on the hype at all. While there was an angle for a sequel, no one wanted one. When they got it years later, it was about as bad as people anticipated a sequel for ID4 to be.

I still to this day do not think that Fury Road was actually a Mad Max script. I think that someone else wrote a script about an apocalyptic Wasteland and George Miller ended up seeing it, bought the rights to it and gave it the Mad Max treatment. I also think that Tom Hardy is the feral kid from Mad Max 2 who grew up and emulated Mad Max as an adult.

I say this in every video that mentions Independence day, I saw the Michigan upper peninsula premiere in Marquette, the way that the entire theater erupted in cheers and applause when the Whitehouse was destroyed is something I will never forget!

I think i know the oppisite list to this and all the movies in it would have to be the live action transformer movies omg they try toooo hard to release them almost always after the last one had aired a year or two apart

Mary poppins returns was good but my gripe about it was that it was almost a scene by scene remake of the original. Everything played out almost the exact same way.
