The Ending Of Solo: A Star Wars Story Explained
video description
It was as if removing the mask was to show girls - see! Girls can be empowered and fearless in the face of anything- um no. What you did was establish a formidable character then reveal her as if seeing her face was supposed to add up to something - as if weve seen her before.
Since we dont and all we have is the strong woman trope - we have no reason to connect to her. If she actually seemed to struggle or hell, she was the love interest of Han and we got her back story, she would be far more interesting than the Queen of Dragons, whom we know is only in there for the strong woman role and little else.
Listen you can have a strong woman without shoving it in our faces. The dragon queen in game of thrones is a great example, we can connect with her, we know her story, and we are still learning about it.
Korra is a strong character from Avatar. Because she has success and failures
Leia was strong, not just because she talked back to Han or took a blaster and fired on the front lines, but because she can be strong without the need to define what makes s strong character
In Solo - the movie goes out of its way to push females and labels as strong and independent we have eyes, we dont need to be told or shown beyond the realm of reason to see if they are strong or not, have some Trust and faith with your actors

So, we are to understand that Han predicted that Beckett would betray them and turn him in to Dryden Voss --- but then Han ALSO predicted that when it was revealed that the coaxium was not down on the planet, Beckett would kill the guards (but not shoot Voss, Han, or Quira) and take off with the coaxium, leaving Han and Quira in a fight with Voss, finish him off, but leave enough time to catch up with Beckett and kill him and recover the coaxium & save Chewie?
This is the part I find a little far fetched. Sure, predict the initial betrayal but also predict both Beckets betrayal of Voss AND the manner in which he would do it? (logic would tell me that Beckett should have shot all of them except Chewie, as he needed someone to carry the stuff)

For those familiar with Legends, the Millennium Falcon ends up with no fewer than THREE droid brains plugged into it by the time of Empire Strikes Back (I don't know where your ship learned to communicate, it has a most peculiar dialect is a reference to this that isn't explained in the movie. L3 may have just been the first.
And anyone familiar with the Clone Wars series and Rebels series knows that Darth Maul survived Episode I and did in fact come to be a major player in the galactic criminal underworld as a way of gaining power for himself, to the point that Palpatine had to stop him personally before he became too politically and economically powerful and threatened the Empire from within.

Like it just felt like this movie was off doing its own thing instead of following the traditional Star Wars route. Which isnt always a good thing. Han was more of a happy go lucky dude in this but in the beginning of New Hope hes is just a rough outlaw. I liked the movie on its own but not as apart of an already well established franchise that was started in fricking 1977!

I think the girl left with the ship because she loved Han. Before the final battle in the big boss's room she takes about sacrificing for those they care about. Then as she inserted the ring key the windows lock down with gated bars, almost like she just locked herself in a prison, and is looking out into the light (Han and chewie on the shoreline. The good guys

The whole reason I didn't see the movie is the guy is not Han. He looks nothing like him, just appears like a guy trying to hard to rip off Ford's character. Why they didn't just do CGI of Han young like they have done with other characters is beyond me, we just got Avengers where Thanos was totally CGI and the best character in that franchise.

Most casual viewers of Star Wars have no clue why Maul is in this and still alive unless your a SW fan into the lore and still it leaves a lot open. The story was mediocre at best. But if they can bring Maul back into live screen then I don't mind Maul as a serious character in a Kenobi film. But if Maul can be in then bring in Ahsoka Tano.

Nah
I really enjoyed this movie, it sets the premise for a NEW way to tell the universe of Star Wars without the strict Good vs Evil, Light Vs Dark, Rebels vs the Empire. I may not be a hardcore Star Wars fan, but living with one, I think I can say it's time to take new approaches, expand the SW movie universe. There's so much left to be done.

I absolutely love bringing back Maul for the films but I'd hate if Maul and Han made direct contact. With Han's comments in ANH about not believing in the force, it wouldn't make sense if he has encountered a sith but still doesn't believe in the force. But other than that I think Jon and Larry could write a terrific story!

I dont get one thing. We see Darth Maul when he has not been chopped in half, so if Obi Wan Kenobi was almost an adult when he chopped Darth Maul and that has not happend yet then Han Solo (who is 22 years old at tht time) would be older than Obi Wan Kenobi.
It does not make much sense.
The timeline is messed up.
