My 15-year-old daughter has seen plenty of movies with jump-scares: Carrie, The Shining, Jaws, Wait Until Dark. the ONLY time she's EVER jumped was during the scene in The Green Mile when Percy deals with Billy the Kid. and even that was a little jump. (For the record, I've seen all of those movies multiple times, and STILL jump every single time)

You showed a brief clip from The Exorcist III, which I think is the most effective jump scare I've ever seen. The Nurse Station.
Otherwise, jump scares has ruined horror in many ways, so glad that there have been so many new movies during recent years that don't rely on those.

The result of the touch of the girl from the videotape-recording in The ring is featured twice. When we, the audience, actually see the girl in the videotape-recording climb out of the TV-set, there is a guy present. He ends up with his face distorted in the same way as the girl.

This is just about as bad as Watch mojo. Horrible list here.
Edit: And one of the greatest jump scares of all time, you used as basically an honorable mention? The Exorcist III! That was probably the best jump scare of the 80's.

Always remember folks- one of the greatest films ever made- Phsyco- is more then the shower scence. Never base a film just on one famous scence, but rather the whole film as well, if it's a fantastic film. Or good enough.

The projector scene in 2017's IT made me jump as well as that crazy old lady in the Visit. Her twisted face all of a sudden popping into the camera almost gave me a goddamn heart attack.

I saw A Quiet Place last night at last and loved it. The jump scares, however predictable or common, made me jump a bunch of times. Amazing movie.

You included a clip of the infamous Nurse station scene from the exorcist, but didn't even use it. That scare definitely deserves number one
