The Real Reasons Skyscraper Bombed At The Box Office Pelger: we didn't get enough of the super advanced building, I would have liked a tour of the amazing locations we only saw for a little bit in the background. the indoors park on floor 100th or whatever is a cool concept if executed well. they rushed the it all goes to hell part.
it's like if in jurassic park the dinosaurs were already rampaging through the park destroying everything and eating people by minute 20.
also, the movie revealed the bad guys and the betrayal too son. also, the scene where the main character finally reunites with his family happens like halfway through, and then the wife and one of the kids are out of the building. they should have stayed in the whole movie to add more tension. it's like they concentrated everything in half the movie then they said oh shit, we still have the second half of the movie to fill in!

we all love the rock but we need a break, he's the absolute shit and everybody loves him and he's doing way to many movies to close together, that's all, if Morgan Freeman was the main character in 5 movies over 3 years you'd be a bit tired of him at a point no matter how many freckles he's earned from explaining things, let someone else share the spotlight for a minute man, were still your fans but you literally crushing us with to many lead roles, like a rock. slow the Dwayne train down just a bit so we can have more appreciation for when you do come out with more movies, and maybe be a supporting here and there, we all love a rockstar as well as a man of modesty.

I dont think the rock is a good leading actor hes great as a supporting actor or as duel leading star, nothing against his abilitys its just hes great when he plays off someone, plus everyone of his characters are the same thats the problem, its just the rock in a cgi fest you can almost guarantee whats going to happen at what point and whats going to be said, people love Dwayne Johnson but honestly theres nothing special about these rolls hes not making us care, since fast and furious Hobbs has essentially all hes played thats fine but not as a staring roll, take 2-3 years off come back and it will feel fresh or stick around and just become boring.

These movies are almost like store brand products that separate them from name brand, theyre too generic, like, whats next? Tree Rescue? Another major problem is that The Rock is in half of the movies coming out this year, and thats a lot, Im not saying he cant act, but he needs to choose quality over quantity and start acting in better movies and also start showing up in less of the new releases, not only does he himself need a break, but as much as I like The Rock, Im honestly tired of seeing him in every movie, and the movies he stars in literally have no meaning, they simply just exist for money.

Quite frankly I just think the movie flopped since it of itself is the pinnacle of bland factory movies.
The movie's strengths only exists on how many selling points they can put on the back of a DVD box
1) famous celebrity as the protagonist
2) family who only exists to be in peril
3) sets up a potential sequel
4) panders to foreign movie offices
5) epic set pieces to use in a trailer
6) characters aren't people, just props for the viewer to project themselves onto
7) based on/ inspired by a preexisting franchise, story, or movie
So on and so on

Just the fact that it was Dwayne Johnson turned me off to it. He isnt too good at performing more than one character, which is basically who he is in real life. It has become hard to find any nuance in his characters, of relatability for that matter, so it never feels like a genuine story. That said, I feel this way about most big hollywood actors. Only a select few are very capable at adapting their mannerisms and looks to portray individual, likeable characters. Plus, I got WAY too many ads for this movie on Youtube.

Also I honestly think this movie may have bombed because theyre trying to kiss Chinas but too much I understand plan politics with movies that you have to appeal to Chinese interest because if you want to make your money you have to be on the list of movies they get excepted into China which is incredibly small so big movies have to have a little part that has to do with China to get them interested but this movie was total china including subtitles so People went to go watch a movie not read a book

Speed may have been made in the same vein as many terrorist/disaster films, but it was clever and felt original. This film looks pretty cool, but not so original. The real reason it bombed is that most of us are probably waiting to see this at home. This was released when there are other films that are more worthy of a trip to the theater, and this one simple struck me as one I could wait for. I'll see it eventually.

I think it's because they(His projects) are not PC in the Right Way.
Jumanji- Actual gay character. Probably no one notice.
The one you think about. At most a temporary trans woman.
This one. The is no White Male Character who isn't a villain.
There is only one villain who isn't; A female Asian.
The Rock is Polynesian. Or Black. In this context.
Too much.

Why is this even a mystery? Dwayne Johnson can't carry a film as the lead. Every movie where he's been the star has flopped, while the successes have him sharing the lead with other performers. Prime example why the Fast and the Furious franchise makes so much money. Move over Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell. There's a new overpaid star to take the top spot.
