Why Star Wars Fans Will Never Get to See This Movie edallencompassingly: People are overthinking this (and giving Disney/Lucasfilm too much credit in the process. The answer is simple. They realized they needed popular content for their upcoming streaming network, or else people won't tune in. You think they are going to sell network subs using the animation they've been peddling recently and a Rogue One spin-off that reeks of desperation? Of course not. They realized they need something big and they already blew their chance at using Han Solo consistently. They knew people wanted Fett badly so they are doing what they always do, using a character for their own end gain. Compound that with the fact people are beginning to point out the hypocrisy of the studio killing off beloved characters in the name of pushing new ones whilst simultaneously relying on older characters to keep the franchise afloat. So they basically just said we need Fett, but not THE Fett, rather Fett if he were our own creation on our own timeline, that way people will love our new stuff. So it's just a recasting basically in the way Ep7 was a recasting of Ep4.
I'm one of the people who boycotted Solo and I will definitely be boycotting Ep9 because it's going to be the best, and frankly last, chance we have to secure something for the future of the franchise (and the studios have made it clear the only language they will listen to is money, but honestly saying that they cancelled the Fett film because of Solo underperforming would be giving Disney/Lucasfilm WAY too much credit. I mean you'd basically be saying they listen to people and make business decisions with consumers in mind. Which they obviously don't or else we wouldn't all be in the position we are now with the franchise. Same as the whole being spurned by two directors thing. You think those studios give a damn about directors? Kennedy fires them in the middle of projects for simply disagreeing with her on anything. If they still wanted it to be a film, it would be.
Not only that, but if they can somehow convince people that something NEGATIVE came out of the boycotts, that is we now miss out on the film we wanted and it's the hardcore fans' fault, then that's a win-win for the studio. You have to expect the most precisely underhanded, devious tactics from the biggest studio in Hollywood.

NO, It failed because we all know SOLO every well already. A reboot recast right out of the gate? WOW. Brilliant Disney. Fans WANTED Boba Fett. Very little screen time character that everyone really likes. You still get your beloved prequel crap (because your afraid to tell an original story. Fact check. Your cannon storylines are bombing) and you can use any actor you like. Seems a bit lik cancel it out of spite because we didn't like solo mixed in with bad ideas. HUGE Star wars fan. My whole family is. There is Star Wars wallpaper still on one of my walls in my room. It went up in 1980. I'd say they are fans as well. Congratulations. You just spent 4 billion so you could give your parks a make over because you have no idea what you are doing with the movie IP and obstinately think you know what we want better than we do. Can't wait to see Luke the movie.

I think fans would gladly go and watch a star wars movie every year. I think a proper Old Republic trilogy would be very welcomed. Disney/Lucasfilm is just focusing on the wrong stuff. Many fans love Star Wars because of the Jedi vs Sith mythology and that's what we are not getting. There is so much potential and interesting characters in the Old Republic-Storys from Legends (Revan, Bane, Malgus, Bastilla, the origin of the Sith and Jedi, etc. The one thing that intrigued me from The Force Awakens were the Knights of Ren and who exactly Snoke is, but both were just trashed in TLJ. I'm too big a Star Wars fan, as that a bad movie could ruin it for me. but it is very frustrating to see how very little is done with this franchise (this includes games. I mean what has EA done with the Star Wars licence? Nothing.

I actually thought that the Solo movie was a good overall action movie that put a little more depth into Han Solo's character and insight into why he has the attitude that he does in the original Star Wars. The end of the movie even left it open for a second Solo movie that could show how he got in with Jabba the Hut and what smuggling deal went wrong that got a price on his head from Jabba. I thought it had a lot of potential and that when it was released is what killed the viewership of it. I think alot of people were still pretty annoyed at how terrible episode 8 had been and weren't in the mood to see Disney ruin another main Star Wars character. I believe it would have done better if they released it in December 2018, especially since they pushed the release of Episode 9 back an entire year.

The Issue I have with Anthology films that give Back Story on Known Characters in Star Wars, like Solo, is that there is no emotional connection into the Characters. We all know that Han Solo, Lando and Chewie would survive. So why get invested in the characters? No Point. A Boba Fett Movie would do the same if set before Return of the Jedi. We really don't need movies that are backstory of known Characters. If you are going to do Anthology films, do it on characters that we know little or nothing about. This way, we can get invested in the characters and care if they will live or die by movies end.
PS: Fire Kennedy. She has no clue what Star Wars is or means to the Fans.

i loved Solo a Star Wars Story i think it was pretty awesome and way better then a lot of the new movies that come out like Rogue One only thing i like about that movie is how they answer what all fans all this years wanted to know why did the Death Star have that dumb Flaw it was designed like that by the one guy who was pretty much a mole made it like that so the rebels could destroy itother then that i hated it Han Solo was way better

I like Looper, obviously a lot of people do to. Always great videos. But how anyone doesn't know that Solo failed because TLJ was a disgrace is beyond me. I refused to pay for Solo, but I did end up downloading it and watching it for FREE. It was a solid Star Wars movie. Nothing incredible, but something I would have gladly seen in theatre if Disney didn't destroy Star Wars. Where's George Lucas when we need him? Ya. I just said that.

The exact reason why we're not getting this movie or an Obi Wan Kenobi movie is because this new generation of Star Wars fans believe that they are entitled to a damn near Perfect movie when they should be grateful for what they get! The Last Jedi and Solo were both great movies and the fanbase needs to remember that these people don't have to cater to every little thing that you so-called fans want.

Disney has sacrificed Star Wars on the altar of progressivism and long time fans aren't sticking around to watch the mutilation of the corpse. It's that simple. They made films targeted at a minuscule political demographic, which as it turns out, doesn't repeat view, doesn't buy branded thermoses or lunchboxes and doesn't give a shit about the franchise.

Why cant Looper tell the truth? Its because TLJ sucked and turned many fans off the franchise. Marvel is releasing three films for Disney every year plus the ones from Fox such as Deadpool and X-men. Theres no fatigue there. Stop making excuses for the horrible job by Kathleen Kennedy. She needs to be fired, not contract renewed. SMH
