The Truth About This Spider-Man Villain Daisy: This, Imo is the main problem with the Spidey franchise. They keep trying to update villains from the Golden Age who were products of that era. Like Crystal ball-head here. Doc Oc, Vulture, Electro, Sand/Hydro man etc. Haven't aged well, Hence the need for constant backstory retooling and power house actors to play them. It wasn't until Venom appeared that the Spiderverse actually got interesting.

You know from the comics themselves, Various cartoon and video game adaptations Mysterio was never really my favorite spiderman villain. Jump forward to spider man far from home and the guys over at Marvel took what I thought in my opinion was a dull villain into someone truly frightening & badass. They did the same thing with Vulture beforehand.

I love Mysterio. Quentin Beck is basically the extreme of any film-maker who gives in to the very real temptation that career imposes on him, losing the hope of making it in the industry, turning to the dark side and using his powers for evil fellow movie-creators will understand. :)

To be real. I'd rather this film Mysterio's chest plate not be there. Just leave the suit plain with a few linings and loners added to give him a slick look, that chest plate just terrible. However, Jake Gyllenhaal is playing Mysterio? What? Is there anything more amazing?

I don't care what other people say I honestly doubt that the Spider-Man far from Home version of him is going to be a full fledged villain. I think that he will be a villian originally wanting to trick Shield but when he sees what they are doing he actually does become a hero.
reply

Mysterio's best role was in Old Man Logan, where he used illusions to trick Wolverine into killing all the X-Men by disguising them as their Rogues Gallery with his trademark hallucinogenic mist.

I'd rank him somewhere up there with Venom and Hobgoblin but at the same time, I see him as a low Batman-tier villain (like Calendar Man or Condiment King)
reply

It's hard to tell what gonna happen with him. Marvel doesn't always follow the comic script exactly (manderin) so they could actually give him powers.
reply

Im pretty sure if they're casting Jake Gyllenhaal in anything related to Marvel that's it the beginning of the end of the MCU
