Another X-Men: Dark Phoenix Test Screening Bombs rjh00: At this point it's probably just better to scrap the whole thing and let Marvel do their take on the group without having to dig the X-men out of a crater. Apocalypse was bad, but it wasn't that terrible that it would be bad to end the Fox X-men with that movie, also would allow audience to have some breathing room before Marvel reboots the whole group.
They could take the Terminator formula but reverse it and use that, but stretched out over 3-4 movies.
First movie plays out normally, it's just a normal X-men movie, ending with earth shot from space, with a meteor flying by, a meteor with a fireball the shape of a bird/phoenix, as the meteor flies by, the fireball detaches itself from the meteor and flies towards the earth, flutters it's wings and all that, making it very clear this isn't just a fireball. The fireball flies closer to earth as the camera follows and zooms in all the way down to the mansion. (Skip the whole childhood thing, the Phoenix showing up during childhood is just dumb) to Jean sleeping and then suddenly waking up from her sleep and movie ends.
Second movie halfway through the Phoenix reveals itself within Jean, explains it's story revealing it needs a host to live and is benevolent, maybe it doesn't do much of anything throughout the whole movie, maybe just maybe at one point it saves jean from dying or something like that to save it's host but also show that it's good.
Third movie Phoenix start being more of a character in the movie and starts doing and saying some things that start to raise doubts whether it is good or not, it's no longer as clear, these doubts don't go unnoticed by Phoenix (It's attached to a very powerful telepath after all. (Kinda like Hal finding out the men are talking about him.
Fourth movie, all pretense is out of the window and Phoenix is done pretending and buying time while it studied earth and Phoenix is the main villain of the movie.

After the release of Captain Marvel would be a great time to introduce X-Men in to the MCU. Now that the Kree and Skrulls are being introduced, Marvel can introduce The Shi'ar, and do a proper X-Men story. You can't do Dark Phoenix, before the good Phoenix green and yellow outfit. You can't do Dark Phoenix without introducing The Hellfire Club, you can't do Dark Phoenix without destroying a galaxy. For the love of all things Marvel, Phoenix is not a personality disorder or a teen with anger issues. The Phoenix is a celestial being from OUTER SPACE that took Jean Grey's body as it's host. Writers take note of my previous statement and save viewers the disappointment of another not even close to the original storyline garbage movie such as this.

Fox about to have the worst year on their records. 'The Kid Who Would Be King' already bombed. 'Alita: Battle Angel' is set to bomb and that movie had a 200m production budget. 'Dark Phoenix' is gonna bomb. 'New Mutants' is apparently just as bad and will likely also bomb. 'Ad Astra' has had zero hype and still doesn't have a trailer 2 months from release and will get wiped out at the box office by 'Detective Pikachu' and 'Aladdin' so lets just count that as another bomb. 'Spies in Disguise' looks crap but crap animated movies have made money before so we'll see. Either way, Fox has no decent IPs left that they haven't already milked dry (Alien, Terminator, Die Hard, Predator) with a billion bad sequels. Disney massively overpayed.

I want this movie to hurry up and come out. I'm tired of hearing about it and just want to see it. Even though I hope for a good movie, I think it will be good for the MCU if it bombs and everyone hates it. This way everyone will want to forget about Fox's X-men, and fans will be eager to see anything X-men that the MCU puts out. Look at the Fantastic-4, Marvel fans would love to forget about those films. Fox set the bar so low. But if 'Dark Phoenix' does do good then there will be a lot of expectation for the MCU. Look at Wolverine. One really bad film, one semi-okay-ish, and then there was Logan. MCU's Wolverine has to be as good as, or better than Logan.

SHELVE IT (which will prob not happen.
Feige and company once in control, will not shy away from:
-an X-men battle on the moon for the life of Jean Grey
-the Sh'iar and Imperial Guard in general
-the Watcher
-Jean and Scott's intimate fight to hold on to some semblance of a life together in the face of cosmic judgement
. and all the other things that make this landmark X-men story so well loved for decades.
MCU will take their time and build this. and we will cry from the tragedy. This will all be delayed for a long time if
fox gets to release this second failed attempt at the story.

This is such a bummer! They f'd up with Last Stand, so one would think the studio could learn what went wrong as to not repeat it. Sadly, it sounds more like the studio went and said. Oh, don't underestimate us! If we want to f up a movie with already great source material, we'll f it up! No one is happier about this news than Zack Snyder and WB! HA! Also, this is not great news seeing The New Mutants seemed to have a familiar fate. That one has been worked, reworked, and reworked it seems for over the last year plus since the first trailer showed up.

Why they again decided to go a different route with the Phoenix is beyond me. The going into space to rescue Lilandra story is pretty cool and would look great as a movie. Yet its all been redone and by the sound of it badly. Its gutting really they make such a mess of it. I am still looking forward to it but am ultimately nervous as well. The x-men started the comic book movie genre in 2000 and it was awesome. Come on gang, write some good stuff. Also. Why is Mystique so pivotal. I miss Rebecca. They are ruining the characters really. Pfft.

x men apoclaypse was also garbage so this is not a surprise. At end of days of future past we see striker as mystique go get wolverine out of the water. So we re to assume mystique rescues woolverine. Then in apocalypse wolverine is stuck with the real striker. Also the villain in apocalypse was boring as crap. Magneto helps him kill a bunch of people then at the end charles and xavier have a converation like its no big deal. The only good thing in that moivie was evan peters scene and getting to see rose byrne again.

I remember right after watching Days of Future Past I said to myself I want more and look forward to what the X-Men series will bring. Deadpool and Logan aside, it's really embarassing to see the series where they had very good Magneto and Professor X suffered through a bad movie.
I know it's unlikely, but when MCU eventually reboots the X-Men, I hope Fassbender and McAvoy stays. If they can reboot James Bond but still retain Judi Dench as M they can do it here.

Why couldn't they just made a live-action conversion of the Phoenix Saga from the 1990s cartoon we had an awesome light Phoenix we had the shi'ar empire this movie could have been Guardians of the Galaxy quality. then they could have told the dark Phoenix story with the Redemption Arc. seriously look to the 90's cartoons. how do these imbeciles get paid millions of dollars yeah I can post this comment for free on YouTube and still have better ideas than them
