Your statement that the movie being great partly because it is 'politically subversive' would only make semi sense (but still be condescending to blacks) if you ASSUME that black people must be oppressed in the west, but the facts simply don't back that up. Do facts matter at all, at this point, or do we all just want to virtue signal?
The only systemic racism is actually affirmative action, so that is legal discrimination against whites and Asians. The media narrative is anti-white, because that is what you can get away with of course.
BP is an okay superhero movie, but is IS YET ANOTHER politically correct movie, but with the harmful identity politics turned up to 11, further dividing the nation. To applaud this is crazy and actually harmful, it is promoting division and a false sense of oppression and victimhood status.
In short, stop virtue signaling through an extremely uninformed worldview.

I agree with pretty much everything on this list except for The Witch fuuuuucccckkkk this movie was dull. I watched it for the first time around last Halloween. I couldn't get into it. It's not scary, chilling, frighting, or at all interesting. There's nothing driving the story forward past the family being evicted and the baby vanishing Oup, we've been tossed out of town and the baby is gone. What's for dinner? and that happens in the first 15 mins. After that we get a reminder 45 mins later Oh yeahhh. there's something in the woods. With the short pay off of Oh, it was the goat?

Moon is an incredible film. I can't even begin to accurately describe how good it is. A cerebral experience with one main character, but the character isn't alone.
If you're a fan of sci-fi films, this one won't let you down.
If you're into solitude films like Cast Away, this one gives you a different, and fresh, take on that theme.
I was skeptical about it before I watched it for the first time, which was when I was able to rent it. But, it _EASILY_ jumped into my top 5 favorite movies of all time.

I'm glad the mentioning of Moon was made. I thought this movie was fantastic ever since I picked up a DVD copy after release.
Unfortunately, I'm not too pleased with the way Netflix drops single, or especially other substantial movies in a franchise series, for inferior movies, and subpar TV series.
I. e. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises, Any Bond film, etc, all missing.

Great gem: Moon. Loved it. Didn't expect much, but I was surprised and have rewatched it a few times since. To me, that type of movie is what scifi is all about. DOesn't have to have great special effects. Good sci-fi is about the story, character, and plot -- not about big budgets and explosions and CGI. To me, it's a masterpiece.

Honestly, Pan's Labyrinth is a league of it's own. From magnificent cinematography to commendable acting and makeup to melodious soundtrack. It has the perfect ingredients to be considered a modern fantasy classic. Everything Del Toro delivers, I keep it in my priority watchlist after watching this movie

Wife and I watched the Witch and neither of us can understand why anyone likes that movie. It was incredibly slow, boring, and wasn't scary at all. It was just dumb. I guess if you are into the historical accuracy of the period portrayed but that seems to be the only thing the movie did well to us.

I thought black panther was ok Id give it like a 7 out of 10. I had fun watching it. But to say it was boring? Its no where near the best superhero movie but to say it was boring is kinda lame. Now Superman v Batman and Wonder Woman was boring as hell until the action.
