The Babadook Ending Explained harlemhornet: This is interesting. So when these Ending Explained videos talk about Metaphoric reasoning behind certain scenes and this and that. has any of this been confirmed by Directors/Story Righter's? I am just curious as to if we know for a fact that movies like this have been made specifically to serve as metaphoric comparisons to mental issues people suffer from. Or is much of this subjective to whoever may watch the movie. Even if this hasn't been confirmed by those who made the movie you guys do an excellent job at connecting the two. Very interesting. (For example we see SO MANY deep interpretations into the movie The Shining. this really means that, and this little detail is a note to this, and it all relates to that. and so on. Has any of that been confirmed or are those analysis's just each individuals take on what the story really represents) - Thx if you can answer.

Even if the Kid was annoying the Hell out of me, in the end I didn't make it to completely hate him.
I mean, imagine growing up with the Thought Dad Died because he was rushing my Mom to the hospital so She could give birth to me!
Imagine growing with the idea of being guilty of his death (it was no his fault tho, it was just a tragic Accident.
Now add to the mixture your own mother which is strongly depressed and stressed.
No shit you would group up being a little freak!
This Is what I love about the movie: The Kid is a freak, but also the Mother, She is a Monster.

I remember watching this movie with my dad when I was younger. I cant remember a majority of the movie but I remember the ending. the way the babadook screamed as it dashed to the basement, and the quotes and images in the book. I personally find it disturbing and as Ive gotten older its become impossibly hard for movies to scare me. I still find those images very eerie. I think its a very creepy movie.

Fun fact: when I was about 6 I had an imaginary friend named RainBow Ganza. It was a girl that basically that always had told me not to eat. She told me to not go to school. She had even started forcing me to stop drinking water. But It wasnt like every other kid. Because I couldn't see her. But I could only hear her. sO I tHiNk iM pSyChO

I don't know about you guys, but I think the book illustrations were the most disturbing things in this film. I literally cannot sleep properly after seeing that picture of the Babadook saying LET ME IN and leaning right over Amelia's bed.
And the death of that dog was pretty disturbing too. I'm an animal lover and I don't approve!

My explanation for the ending was that Amelia has now gained control over her fears about her son, the tragedy, and the ghost.
Film appears to me as more of an women empowerment by overcoming horrors of guardianship in single parent family.

This is such an amazing movie partially because they don't attempt ask let alone answer the question of if it's real or in her head. Great Film.

The only real monster in this movie was that child. Imagine getting such a kid, would also try to replace him for a mosnter in the basement

I think that what we saw on the TV earlier in the movie about the mother killing her son and neighbor is what's going to happen
