I realised today that when watching the movie it turns out that when Jason went to the toilet he off camera went into the maze and like the women when she was a young girl and like her he was also swapped. therefore both the red woman and the red Jasons were now in the normal family and this leads to why the woman didnt kill the red girl when she was hanging from the tree because she remembered that she was her real daughter. this also leads to how burnt Jasons face was when he pulled the mask off because he didnt know how to use the lighter properly and how the woman was screaming when he walked back into the fire because she knew that was her son and he was going to burn alive. Also at the end the red woman under ground was talking about how she wanted revenge because she was locked under there for a long time and wanted revenge when she was swapped. During the end when the woman kills the woman in red she starts to laugh in a weird way and this is when Jasons realises when hes hiding in the locker that thats his real mum. this leads to them both getting out and the camera focuses the attention on both the woman and Jason at the end of the movie because they were both related and the father and daughter are yet to find out (hopefully in the second movie) that the boy and mother have been swapped this whole time and we will see what happens from there.

anyone noticed that only the people on the surface had real things and the tethers only had to copy the behavior with help of what they had down there (Jeremiah 11: 11 written on cardboard while the tether had to cut it into his forehead, the Caesarean section on Adelaide to give birth to Jason, while red had to do it by herself) and that's why Jason's magic trick doesn't work. because he's from the tunnels and only has a lighter without real fire while pluto who was originally born on the surface but was switched last year had a real lighter and copied the trick with it so many times that his face got burned. same counts for their masks. pluto has a big hole around his mouth although he shouldn't be able to speak (which he only can't because of the burns) and Jason who should be able to speak normally has only a small hole around his mouth. it indicates that normally he wouldn't need one because he shouldn't be able so speak but because he's the son of red, she tought him how to speak, but because she never learned more vocabularies after her 11th birthday, this is why Jason, who is originally pluto also has such a childish language

One of the dumbest films of recent years. Sure, it's really well made and has great moments of horror and suspense, but it makes literally zero sense, has a twist ending that negates the whole thing and about halfway through decides its characters are indestructible and can laugh in the face of any threat. There's no political or social commentary here and any attempts to read it as such only leaves the filmmakers open to accusations of being reactionary conservatives (the invisible underclass rising up, but obviously they're depicted as sub-literate murderers who want to take our stuff; talk about insulting) It's basically an M. Night Shyamalan film that's been overrated to high heaven while Shyamalan's own work has been widely pilloried for doing the same thing to the same effect.

The doppelgangers weren't evil as the definition varies depending on whose side was doing the defining. They were created as a NWO project to eliminate above ground humans and repopulate the planet. The existence of regular humans had run its course, and a shift of power was about to take place. Instead of Destroying humans, why not create a clone race to replace humans, eliminating wars, racism, famine, police brutality, greed, pollution, etc. A race of humans who could live harmoniously regardless of color. The powers that be spent 33+years doing research and cultivating a clone race to mimic above ground humans in anticipation of global replacement making society function somewhat the same. And no, this WASN'T A FAILED GOVERNMENT EXPERIMENT. it was NEW WORLD ORDER!

There is only one observation that proves Jason is not a tether. The mask. The way he wears his mask symbolizes he is half tether. Just as there are two sides of him, he can wear the mask in two different ways, on top of his head or on his face. If you noticed, he pulls the mask down when he is directly faced with a tether. When he is in the closet with bad Jason, he pulls his mask down. I think this is also when he realizes he can control his tether. When he is in the neighbor's house and kills the tether with the rock, his mask is pulled down. When he tells his family bad Jason is playing a trick, he pulls his mask down because once again he is in direct contact with a tether, and this is also why he pulls his mask down at the end. He realizes his mother is a tether.

I liked the movie, but it wasn't perfect by any means. Peele focused more on the message he was trying to send instead of the plot itself. There are many plot holes in his movie, Why are there clones? How did the government clone everyone in America? How could they all be underground? How could anyone not notice that many people underground when it was easy for Adelade to find it twice? Why did the clones mirror the behaviors of the originals? Why didn't they just leave the underground? How could the clones survive only on Rabbit meat? When you put just a bit of thought into the movie, you realize how flawed it is. The movie was great in terms of directing, acting, and music, but the story itself is shakey.

So, I just finished watching Us for second time. Maybe Jordan Peele is ultimately saying that not only are we our own worst enemy (probably because of all the Corruption and Division - amongst different races, differences in political views, differences in religion, etc, but also that WE ALL need to come together. Hence the Hands Across America reference and the tethered holding hands all across the world. Maybe like a United we stand kind of thing. Hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to say even though I'm a bit all over the place since I wanted to get out the idea before I forgot it. Just my take on it though

Remember that when the child Adelaide was taken hostage and replaced, her intellectual growth paused there and then. She lived the rest of her life underground taking with her whatever education and knowledge she grasped of the world by 1986. Everything about her plan is inspired by the 80s, hence the hands across America commercial for the homeless.
All the slasher/horror movies she pays tribute to, including MJ's one glove/Thriller, were pre-1986. I think that even Pluto acts like a dog like Disney Pluto coz child Adelaide watched cartoons. Which also reminds me of the feral child in Mad Max 2.

The Lost Boys thing was easy to pick up off the bat because no horror movie has ever been filmed in Santa Cruz EXCEPT Lost Boys. The line about them filming a movie was simple for me. JP is the QT of Horror movies, they look good but rip off ever movie every made. Not very original ending now for his first two movies. I give both of his movies C plus to B minus at best, sorry Charlie. Get Out ripped off a dozen Elvira, Mystery of the Dark movies big time. If you are a fan of exploitation horror flicks then you can figure out 99 percent of a JP movie.
