It's Time To Talk About That Loki Scene In Endgame Super: Imagine this,
Iron Man wrestles Thanos for the Gauntlet. Thanos punches Iron Man, sending him back. Suddenly, a ball of blue dust gets thrown at Thanos from off screen. He opens his eyes, and gets stabbed in he throat. The camera turns to Thanos's Side. And it slowly pans upward to reveal Loki looking him in the eyes with pure anger I Told You, You'd Never Be A God
Thanos gargles out But I am inevitable He snaps his fingers only to find out that he's missing the infinity stones. Both him and Loki look over to see Iron Man on one knee, as the infinity stones attach to his gauntlet. And I. Am Iron Man Snap Loki pulls his knife out of Thanos's Throat and he falls over, his body disappearing as defeat shows in his eyes. Loki stands tall as he looks over to see his brother stare at him with disbelief and emotion in his eyes. They hug, with the army disappearing in the background, I told you, the Sun would shine on us again

Since in the end of Ragnarok Thor and Loki had such a close relationship and felt more connected than ever, and now as they usually do in movies with lots of sequels, they start creating so many movies and then start creating alternate timelines, makes the whole story a mess.
The point I'm trying to say is: I liked that in Ragnarok Thor and Loki became closer than they ever been (sure Loki is still a trickster but it's different) and now he could just be back to being the classic villain because he disappears after being arrested in New York thanks to the future Tony Stark, back then he was still a villain, sure Loki is a classic villain in the comics but. I liked that he was now closer to Thor

Okay here's the situation if Loki died or not and I can explain through Avengers Endgame.
When Iron Man and Captain America went back to 2012 to retrieve the tesseract and Loki's staff you saw him Loki grab the tesseract and disappeared into another dimension although that Captain America and Ironman went further back in time time to the 70's so pick it up again it's okay.
Because of the end of the movie when Captain America went and drop back the stones at their precise time that did not change the fact about Loki disappearing with the Tesseract from point A that means there's an alternate reality in place for Loki so he didn't die.

Am I the only one who understands how a paradox actually works? Loki grabs the Tesseract during a time travel mistake, therefore, the events if Dark World never take place because he doesn't get brought back to Asgard as a prisoner. At least the events become different. This sends out a ripple effect into the MCU. EVERYTHING from that fractured moment becomes different, including Endgame itself. And don't get me going on Nebula killing her past self. it can't happen! She would cease to exist. The problem with writing a Time Travel story is that it's done by those who don't understand it which is evident.

i think the most likely option is that he teleported onto thanos' ship then it jumped into the future in the main timeline, then he witnessed the battle going on and just peaced out when it looked like thanos was losing. that way he is alive in the current main timeline with the tesseract and maybe gamora, setting up starlord and thor both to meet people they thought were dead while they're traveling together, with loki being still the relatively evil loki from the original avengers and gamora being the still cold to starlord cause she doesn't know him yet.

Movie pitch to Marvel- have Thor and the Guardians run into alternate timeline Loki and have to work together to save the universe. Can you imagine the Loki/Rocket snarky conversations? Or Loki being driven crazy by Drax's inability to understand abstract thinking? And Mantis could be sort of his therapist because she would know that the uncaring exterior is covering up pain. I don't even care what the overall plot is, I just think throwing them all together and watching them interact would be awesome: D

let's assume that cap uses the space stone in 2012 to bring loki back and he drops the tesseract and thor aprehends him and cap time travels back to where howard was alive and put back the space stone and maybe using the reality stone to reform the space stone note that the stones other than the power stone doesn't wield any power that's too much for cap he probably could handle all of them except for power
Edit:
Well if he doesn't use more than one at once

What if guardians 3 or possibly 4 (as 3 has rumored to cast back the actress playing ayesha) goes back in time as quill might be missing gamora so thor and guardians go back to the same timeline unknowingly that its the same timeline where loki ran with tesseract possibly to ronin but as time flows, some years might have passed there as well, lets say 2 so that its 2014 and battle of xandar takes place, thor encounters loki again and quill finds good gamora.

past Loki escaped with the tesseract and past Thor doesnt have his hammer because future thor stole it. past gamorrah is on the loose in the future (i assume thatll be part of the plot of GotG3, tony stole pym particles while they were still being researched and captain america completely changed agent carters timeline. basically everything is messed up now which is probably why theyre going with the multiverse thing from now on starting with spiderman.

People are all wondering about this scene and if it create another timeline. Let me break it down. The infinity stone he stole lets him anywhere in space, 'not' time. There is no timeline branch, as Cap and Iron Man go back to waaaaay before Loki steals the stone (within the same timeline, then acquire said stone. Therefore, the lobby scene never happens, he never steals it, timeline continues as we've seen it. It's not that hard of a concept to grasp.
