GoT Fans Share Extremely Blunt Reactions To The Series Finale
video description
She thought she found the throne, love, and her people but then it all went to hell. But then, my fine writers, you had the army of the dead decimated in an hour and a half. You leveled King's landing and slaughtered innocents in the next episode. Then you killed off Daenerys roughly 35 minutes into an episode then gave us a quiet episode where an emotional Grey Worm engages in a tense but generally tame standoff with the heads of other houses where they essentially discuss moving toward a version of democracy (thanks Samwell Tarly) Then you writers rescued the last untarnished popular character (Tyrion) Probably the most reasonable thing you did is to have the heads of houses pick the one person they perceive as the lesser of all evils in Bran to be King.
So no war from a group (the Unsullied) who know nothing but war. Then you split up the Stark kids, banishing Jon to a place where he feels pretty much at home. but wait, you had them deny him marriage and wealth, which he never really had to begin with. Mind you the guy had already lost Ygritt and has to live with the guilt of taking the life of his second love. I don't see how not jumping into a third relationship is going to be difficult. This is sad?
But it's not sad that Arya is walking toward the unknown by sailing west of Westeros. Lord knows what the hell she's going to encounter but that's something to celebrate. And Sansa's likeability had started to teeter in my eyes. but she's queen now. That felt like a shruggable thing to me.
And the scene of the new royal council discussing the rebuilding smacked of mild Marx Brothers slapstick because immature kids are minding the store (minus Brienne ) and start talking about brothels and such. This is really just my 2 cents. I do respect other people's opinion on this. I was tired in the end and just moving on with the memory of the whole series. Sadly the ending is not where my thoughts go when I think of the total beauty of Game of Thrones.

The most undeserving person got what everyone desired. And whatever dany faced, did she find what she was worthy off? She broke the chain of slavery and helped the north to fight with the white walkers despite losing her child/viserion. And then. she didnt even get a friendly response from the north. The only reason north marched to Kings landing was Because of Jon. And about Sansa Stark. when Dany came to fight for her brother, her family, her people putting aside her own fight with Cersei. when Dany. although being the Queen. went to her to have a friendly conversation. all Sansa had to ask Dany was what next? SANSA WAS ABLE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER BECAUSE DANY PROVIDED THEM THE RESOURCES TO FIGHT WITH THE WHITE WALKERS! BOTH DRAGONGLASS AND DRAGON FIRE (the only tool to defeat the undead) was given to them by DAENERYS herself. and you (Sansa ) should be stayed on knees from the moment Dany stepped into Winterfell for the favor Dany was doing for you.
And yet after the battle Sansa even tried to step back to fight back for Dany.
Dany choked this betrayal because Jon didnt listen to Sansa. Dany looses Her friend, her dragon, her best friend Because of this ungrateful northerners. and to complete the betrayal of northerners. Jon stabbed Dany.
Ned Stark would NOT be proud of his children. rather Hed be wondering how much Cersei Lannister. Little Finger. Boltons have changed his HIGHLY ambitious daughter. I mean he ARGUED with King Robert Baratheon and even DISMISSED his position as the Kings hand in front of the SMALL COUNCIL without even knowing Danaerys Targaryen well. HE HAD ALL THE CHANCE TO KILL THE MAD KING HIMSELF. as described by Jaime. Late alone Dany.

Its like the writers of the show didnt even watch (let alone understand) the past seasons, this was the laziest writing in the history of television. Not because it was the worst period but because it went from the best to the worst.
Yes they wanted to turn the Dragon Queen into the Mad Queen but they definitely didnt justify her descent into evil. In fact, the plot twist should have been, the writing was on the wall but she did the right thing in the end (because that makes much more sense in her character development, to defy her fathers destiny). The Dragon Queen not only freed the slaves, she resurrected dragons, she walked through fire completely unharmed, she is of royal lineage and virtually everything shes done in previous seasons doesnt make any sense with this season (thats because it doesnt, its just lazy writing.
Jon got the shaft, period. Bran is literally one of the worst choices to be King, he is best suited to be an advisor, there are at least a dozen better choices. Its crazy that so many celebs are saying you cant have an opinion on the show because art isnt a vote. While that is true, that doesnt mean you cant have an opinion because they had a show that was one of the best written ever, only to wrap it up with a final season that made no sense at all.

This was what I wanted personally, for Dany and Jon Snow to rule together as King and Queen of the seven kingdoms.
I think it was a waste that they turned Dany into a crazy warmongering person. And also for Jon to just become an exiled person, despite all the stories of his exploits, his selfless sacrifices and his sense of honor. All gone. Think of all the people that would've loved Jon as their king.
Not to mention, they killed that beautiful relationship they had. But hey, it's GoT. It's not supposed to be all happy endings I guess.
I would've loved it more if Dany, upon finding out John's true identity to also yield to him like he yielded to her. It really shows who loved the other more.
I'm not really into plot twists, although some can be good. This one I was not really fond of with Bran becoming the king. I feel like all he did was sit there, even tho of course he played a huge role. I would've thought instead of being king he would become an advisor of the king.

For almost 7 seasons, they showed us how good Daenerys was. & in the last 2, in order to have an fast ending they just reversed the direction of her character!
& honestly I didn't even know why they have to show us Jon was Targaryen. because this truth neither has any impact in the plot of d story nor it make him the king.
& Sansa became d queen of North as she wanted badly to be a queen from her childhood.
& Bran who never did a single thing except for just sitting & watching became the king.
So it's more like the whole kingdom was ruled by the most undeserving Stark brother & sister.
& This is what they called ending!
For crying out loud we had been watching for 8years just to see this type of ending!

On the contrary of apparently the majority, I loved the ending which is not really an end. First of all, Bran already saw some of the scenes we witnessed in this last season in season 4. He touched a gods-tree and saw the Iron throne covered with snow/ashes, and he saw the shadow of Drogon flying over Kings'landing.
Secondly, Azor Ahai (the prince that was promised) was supposed to kill the love of his life, just as Jon/Aegon did. Drogon didn't kill Jon because he cant kill a Targaryan.
Pretty much predictable and therefor I can't understand all these disappointments. Yes, I am a bit sad that GOT is finished. but it is a TV show. come on. life goes on, there will be other shows and spin offs and stuff.

What gets me is why banish Jon Snow to The Nights Watch when there is nothing to watch. They won the war against the Night King. Bran is now the new King and Sansa is the Queen of the North an Independent Nation by the way, so none of them couldn't take him in or pardon him? Pathetic. Then he leaves the wall to go North with the wildlings? Huh. really? I could of wrote a better season 8, trust me you wouldn't be disappointed. Jon is the one true king and right to the throne, that's how it should of ended. Dany doesn't die but returns to Mereen. Queen Cersei ends up back in prison. Bran goes back being the 3 eyed raven. Tyrion remains in Kings Landing as hand to the King. My story would be a 1000x better.

People may mock the fact that Bran became the ruler, but he will be unstoppable. Ironically, Bran, the Broken has a second meaning. It doesn't only refer to him being a cripple. Remember, he is basically omnipresent and omniscient due to being the 3-eyed Raven. He will always know if someone plots to assassinate him, and he will be able to prevent any coups or wars. Heck, he will even know when his guards are jerking off. His powers make him overpowered as hell, or to be more precise, BROKEN. Dude's about to become an unstoppable ruler OR tyrant, if he turns evil. Again, he will see ANY attempt at his life coming from a million miles away.

Season 8 episodes 4-6 were rushed and extremely poorly written. Sansa is queen with no family around. Arya was ended good but cmon if she was just going west why couldnt she have killed Dany. Cersei being a cry baby at the end getting killed by bricks, thats bs. And then Jaime literally throwing away everything at the last second to help his sis? Jon and Dany were the real characters that got robbed. And grey worm shouldve died in a battle a long time ago like some of the other non essential characters. And bronn was a like able character in the beginning and at the end they made him look like a douche. Smh I this show has me heated.

Here is what they should do to continue the story and keep the money coming in (I'm on board). Do an alternate ending where John Snow reaches for his blade but stays his hand. All of the rest of the episode was what Bran saw IF John had killed Danaerys. But for some unexplained reason, he doesn't. Perhaps because he's been dead himself and doesn't want her to go there.
Continue on with John and Daenerys and their struggles ruling the 6 Kingdoms together as husband and wife.
Continue on the story and introduce a Khal Drogo look alike to challenge John Snow for the affections of his wife.
