Claremont goes on to compare the film favorably to the more MacGuffin-based villainy of Thanos in Avengers End Game by writing, This is her story. Here, [Jessica Chastain] is the putative adversary but the real foe is the temptation Jean feels herself. This is all about her in a way Thanos/Avengers was not. Their battle was more traditional, Tonys sacrifice a culmination of story progression. Jean was a kid, college-age with her whole life ahead. She [had] everything to live for. Tony faced sacrifice, to save not only the world but the wife & child he loved. Jeans choice was so much more primal and therefore difficult. And this movie tells that story oh so well.

The timeline is completely blown out because of this Movie.
UNLESS YOU FORGOT that Jean Gray died when Wolverine killed her. And that was when she was NEVER Dark Phoenix. She was a level 5 mutant on the same level as Wolverine. Wolverine's healing was so strong even Jean Gray couldn't kill him. Wolverine wasn't hit with some cosmic light show like Jean was according to this movie.
This movie literally JJ Abrams'd the entire time line.
I know what you will say, But but this movie takes place before that!

They shouldve focused more on the family aspect that they told us before it aired, there are so many unfinished plot arcs like Magneto and QS - Raven and Beasts' - Storm and Nightcrawler's role as the upcoming XMen / well we cant blame them cause its supposed to be 2 parts and that the studio cut out their budget so thats why some scenes dont actually fit in and it feels rushed.

I think it was right for Xavier to put the blocks into Jean since she has power that can rip the world apart. As bad as it was it needed to be done at the time. Though I think as she got older he could have slowly brought them off of her to see if she could handle her power.

They need to keep going, because how else will they letus know how Jean can be alive in days of the future past at the end with the new storyline (including apocalypse and dark phoenix, while she died in dark phoenix, what's up with that then?

All in all, an underpowered end to the X-Men storyline that is haphazardly integrated into the other movies and mangles the Dark Phoenix saga like a high school freshman using Crib Notes for a paper due in the morning.

Go back and read the book version to The Last Stand. It begins with Jean's power flaring, causeing her parents car to crash, the accident kills her friend and Jean almost brought her back from the dead.

Hated it. Worst part was the dialogue. The scenes between Jean and the alien sounded like they were straight from the pages of a 1960's man hating radical feminist manifesto. Just horrible.

Um yes hello, can anyone explain to me how does the death of raven in dark Phoenix works? She dies in that movie but she appears later in the first movies (xmen, x2 and the last stand)
