Netflix Adopts New Policy After Stranger Things Backlash

In Hemlock grove every second person is a chain smoker, they even break out cigars. The Writers Also put huge emphasis on smoking scenes, almost every scene in the show. They do this by showing characters fondling their gold cigarette boxes and characters screaming out I could do with a cigarette right now.
Either they are being paid, or they truly think that having multiple chain-smokers in every show adds great quality to the story. Which it doesn't btw, but then again Netflix shows can be damn awful. I would rather have to lick an ashtray each day and get to choose what I watch instead of not having to lick one and being forced to watch something as awful as Hemlock Grove or some shit each day, day in day out.

. sooo what im hearing in conclusion is. that regular cigs arent on the rise but e cigs are and its not from streaming platforms. so netflix is taking action anyways? to strip away some of the authenticity of good shows? yes its not make or break but it adds a layer however small to their character and i enjoy that. im not a smoker. i hate it tbh. but i get people do it and i do think people who smoke have slightly to even major behavioral differences cuz of it and seeing that in a show adds depth to the characters involved. this is bs. throw a stick in the wind and someones offended. cant do shit anymore without someone making a fuss its hurting the world.

I think far too many of us were interested in the acting rather than caring what they held between their fingers.
So I doubt any of it would cause any influence towards smoking.

Lets create a big plastic bubble for each person and them put them inside them, so they will be safe and sound forever and ever. or better lets create laws That ban, prohibit everything that even remotely can remind habits of the past so that people will not be tempted to have bad habits. Oh my God people here are so dam sensitive yes smoking is badd for you but up to the viewer in order to make that decision they should be fully aware how dangerous and badd cigarets are if they really want to poison their own bodies by trying to be someone that they like then let them they will figure out the consequences on their own

It's a show that takes place during the 80's, EVERYONE was smoking during the 80's. it's an accurate portrayal of an era (in that regard, not the monsters part, Lol. Everybody now knows the dangers of smoking and information is easily available, if you're smoking nowadays, it's on you.

In the 1980's there were more smokers, and they smoked indoors, so I think 'Stranger Things' is historically accurate. But I can see where the outcry is coming from. I think Netflix is still doing the right thing. Smoking is the worst thing in the world.
