The Critics Have Seen The Lion King And Here's What They Say LunaJo/Jolanda: Nope. The animated one is way better. The mimics and expression an animated character can bring speaks way more to the heart and soul than these fake lions can. It may look cool, but there's no soul. It's also in insult to the hard working animators who brought all the original characters to live. Are we going to raise a new generation without the classic animations? That's robbing them of the magic that only an animation movie can give them.
It would be like we never had cartoons, never had comic books, only photographed images of something that looked like it. It won't stimulate the imagination of children the way an animation or cartoon can do. As a kind of gimmicky thing it's okay, but it can NEVER replace the beauty of the original animation!

Personally I dont believe this is a cash grab. Yes money is always a motivation in any business but I truly believe they wanted long time Lion King fans to experience their faviroute movie in a very cool looking way.
Before calling something a cash grab just remember that people put in alot of time, money and effort to make this movie. And I truly believe they dit it for the real fans and not those critisizng the movie so brutally.

This is the problem with our society! People look to other people's opinions as holier than thou instead of seeing the movie for YOURSELF and forming your OWN opinions. There are MANY movies that have terrible critics ratings or Rotten Tomatoes scores that I LOVED! Learn to think for YOURSELVES people and stop letting people tell YOU what is good or not. Opinions are SUBJECTIVE!

Looking at Rotten Tomatoes, the All critics score is sitting at a 59% (Rotten) and Top Critics score of 41% (Rotten. It could still make a barely Fresh rating with a percent or two, and it's highly likely that viewers will love the film, making it Fresh. But the tagline that Critics have seen it and they love it, is just simply false at the present moment.

From the comment section I sense right-wingers once again have let themselves get triggered by a movie! Why? I'll guess they're mad about fewer White voice actors being in the 2019 movie than the 1994 movie. I'm floating this theory because I've already seen mentions of the Captain Marvel and Star Wars: The Last Jedi films in the comment section.

Beat for beat? On a classic that doesnt need to be remade. Yup. Im watching it for the beat for beat looks on a new look.
Look what some people did with a remake on classic. Robocop. Did people want a remake on a classic with a twist or just be faithfull. Im in for the beat for beat look.

This film has really big paw prints to fill - the original is an incredible movie - I'd even go as far as to say the Death of Mufasa sequence, from Scar's deception of Simba through to 'If you ever come back, we'll kill you! ' is one of the most brilliant film sequences ever made.

Bro you review has no weight because it's clear the critics didn't like it all that much including myself. Great visuals but the voice overs suck and they could have squeezed a little emotion when the animals express themselves in the various ways. The movie could have been so much better.

I watch Disney because cartoons are fun, quirky and sometimes anthropomorphic faces convey a lot more expression than actors can. I dont come to Disney for the soulless live action tech demo movies that run on nostalgia marketing. New lion king is just nice graphics and nothing more

How can anyone be critical about this? A whole bunch of people who are behind the graphics, art, production of this movie busted their asses working the best they can to make this! It's easy to be prejudice and criticize when you're not involved in the whole work.
