How Game Of Thrones Changed TV And No One Noticed David: The fans ruined Game of Thrones. Nothing could save a thing, once communication technology allowed idiots all over the world to add their ignorance to the mix. D and D didn't screw up, they bailed when it got to be too much shit, and they wanted to have a life again. They own the records and the awards the show won for them. But they were chased out. No remix or re-dos, either - because most of the cast doesn't want to go through that shit again.

Here's how it changed tv:
1) Every network released their own Game of Thrones clone to varying degrees of success.
2) More convoluted narratives, intrigue, boring cloak and dagger elements were added to shows.
3) The idea of good and bad near disappeared into complicated shades of meh
4) And finally everytime you turned on your tv or when to the cinema at least one person said hey look, it's your man from Game of Thrones

I think George RR Martin probably told the writers they could no longer do character development, which is why in seasons 7 & 8 all of the characters just stood around or walked around or just said & did dumb shit that they would not have done in all the other previous seasons.

One thing that struck me after the finale was everyone, apart from Sam & Gilly, was single at the end.
So many shows focus on couples and hardly anything ever ends with a bunch of single people. This is refreshing and different. Another way GoT breaks the mold.

So, if you have never seen a second of GOT, is TV still changed? Never seen a second of Netflix, Hulu or any of the rest of them. The only network drama I have seen any of in the last six years was Gotham. Nothing is changing for me.

HBO has spared no expense for season 8.
Except the money for competent writers.
(It's a joke. I know, that wanted to give Dumb & Dumber more seasons, but they wanted to get to Starwars as quickly as possible)

Are TV shows now becoming gore-fests and some mild titty displays in between vast stretches of dry, unclever, boring politicking and bad writing all of a sudden because of it?
Guess it didn't change much then.

ANOTHER failing video.
A LOT of series/movies were doing this type of stuff WAY before the first episode of GoT aired. Your subjective videos have been a pain in the ass Looper! Time of the year maybe?

reply

I find GoT (books and series) to be both gross and just too much (violence, incest, etc. it has good writing and dialogue, but the incest and violence is just way beyond the pale.
