You can't have a movie that runs for four hours - moviegoers find it too uncomfortable, no matter how good? Is that the gist of what I heard here? That might come as quite a shock to the makers and audiences of, say, Gone with the Wind and Lawrence of Arabia, who apparently didn't realize they were duds. Take all those awards back immediately! What tripe! The ones who don't like four hour films are the exhibitors, who can't show as many sessions daily as with shorter films, and thus rake in less cash.

Well, it makes sense to me. King's books tended to be very long, but I loved them so much I didn't even care how long it was. His books are great, and most of them that have been made into movies did a pretty good job with the exception being Kubrick's version of the Shining. I know I'm in the minority here, but having read the book I thought that this movie was terrible! My favorite movies were The Dead Zone, Misery, and The Stand. These were great.

I dont see what the big deal is. Endgame was 3 hours long and everyone was happy. It Chapter 2 (another movie people are hyped about like Endgame) is 10 minutes shorter and people could leave as soon as the credits roll which means they wouldnt even need to stick around for the full 2 hours and 50 minutes.

I wonder if this movie will be a 15 in the UK same as the first one or an 18 based on the the shit like bloodiest scene in movie history and all that, I dont care what the rating is, Im just curious and hope they dont censor the UKs release for box office returns if that is the case

Why don't movies in the US have intermission? I went to the movies in India a couple of times, and they always have an intermission. Just give people some time for a bathroom break. It might even be good for the concession stand, because people could buy more food & drinks.

2: 40 is assume that the hate crime one will be with adrian mellon in the first bit of the book? then the domestic abuse plot, is that just an expansion of beverly's childhood? or is there another domestic abuse case that i am forgetting about in the book?

Good! Glad its so long. The book is massive so it definitely needs the long run time. So glad there will be an even longer version on dvd too! Really enjoyed the first film and adore the book so Im very excited for this!
