I'm pretty sure that this Neo isn't the same one from the first three movies. It's going to be more like this: Forty-five minutes into the first movie, Morpheus told Neo, When the Matrix was first built there was a man born inside that had the ability to change what he wanted, to remake the Matrix as he saw fit.
Neo is going to be in a previous iteration of the matrix and this time he will mentor Morpheus.

In the Matrix 4, the Merovingian wants control of the Matrix. He takes over by force-feeding his special orgasm-inducing desserts to any remaining agents and all the programs who oppose his efforts, leaving them in an endless pleasure stupor. But he makes one mistake. The desserts have to be customized for either male or female targets. He is finally defeated by a program that can alter their gender at will. Franchise fatigue is corporate Hollywood's FAVORITE excuse. The matrix sequel movies were okay but were clearly not as good as the original. I heard this franchise fatigue thing said about star wars too. you cant make horrible decisions or lackluster movies and then try to blame it on something entirely different. I've even seen that shit used to defend captain marvels disappointing box office even though Endgame shattered records in the same timeframe. That whole Fatigue thing is an excuse that other execs tell their bosses and stockholders when their boardroom written movies fail.

They could make it the 7th iteration of, Neo. However, instead of leaving the Matrix to the real world, like in the originals? They need to have Neo learn of it himself, figure out his powers; while, also battling against the agents and trying to help Zion from the inside. More character depth. Personally, the points in Zion in my opinion? Was the most boring shit ever.

The Wachowskis lost it halfway through part two.
