The Entire Cloverfield Timeline Explained BraveOil: There's a lot of theory videos on these movies.
Basically its a multiverse and each of them has their own timeline. in Paradox, the machine accidentally made the portals(I think) into each other and that's how the monsters and aliens got there in the first place. The crew in Paradox went into another universe which is Cloverfield, but the other crew in the satellite fell into the ocean. In Cloverfield, the object that fell into the ocean at the beginning, could have been that satellite. For the monster, it came from another universe and went into Cloverfield, but it went back in time in the Cloverfield universe so who knows how long it was there before the fallen satellite woke it up. And then there is this company, Tagruato, (it was never mentioned and yet canon, however, I believe they probably have a connection to Robert and his new job) knew about the monster. The oil rig in the ocean was that company and they were studying the monster. And the guy from the basement in 10 Cloverfield Lane apparently knew what was going to happen
There is like a whole ARG(Alternate Reality Game) that's part of it. Like Tagruato's Slusho company had a van that went around the world(I think or somewhere) giving out slushies. And apparently one of the fictional ingredients is Seabed's Nectar which comes from the monster(I think) that if eaten raw, can make you explode. Which did happen Marlena in Cloverfield, after she got bitten or attacked by the smaller monster spider things.
If I said anything wrong please tell me
And then there is another movie, Overlord, that was supposed to be connected to Cloverfield but the idea for the connection was scrapped.
TL; DR its just a multiverse caused by Cloverfield Paradox

In the first Cloverfield movie of the alien monster attacking New York City the storyline only showed the US military striking that creature with conventional bombs with little effects as it kept on causing havoc throughout the city until the all out leash of the US airforce at the end of the that movie maybe finally killed it or not. What if the federal government went further and ordered a nuclear strike on that giant thing since conventional bombing was taking too long to bring that monster down. how would that storyline? Although a nuclear strike would finally kill it fast but would obliterate all of New York City and the surrounding areas outside the city with radiation fallout depending of where the winds blow into other states or out to sea

This is the creepiest (I dont use that word regularly) series, possibly more so than Aliens. Partly because they never (to my knowledge) depicted Xenomorphs on earth, in cities or otherwise. Also, for 2 of the 3 films, the action is centered around regular people dealing with it. Even the 3rd film, with the genres common place setting of space, depicts earth, and earth actually makes an appearance during and at the end of that outing. They made it more connected and relatable than the Aliens franchise. Only saw the first one though, to be clear.

Bro they all take place in separate universes and the clover field paradox is what caused the second film to happen also theres a guy who tries to link all the movies together and its such a great Yt series his name is Inside A Mind and he goes into deeper detail on the films more than what u can get from watching the movies its worth the watch and also he didnt talk about the short film that was made about cloverfield called Megan its soooooo good if ur a cloverfield fan and watched the second one its about Howards daughter

You didn't explain anything. Cloverfield Paradox happens FIRST. Their mistake trickles through the space and time of various universes. It's likely that Cloverfield Paradox and the original Cloverfield are on different Earths.

sigh Yet another look into the Cloverfield movies that somehow misses the point that Emmet was the one to kill Brittany, not Howard. Really calls into question the rest of your analytic skills.

Can someone answer this please? Since the first film took place earlier than clover field paradox does that mean its a different universe? If so that explains everything and even the quiet place.

So the ship crashing into the water in cloverfield paradox is the same thing that falls out the sky in the first cloverfield when they are on the ferris wheel right? Some tell me

Michelle can't kill Howard effectively to survive down there, but manages to blow it up and escape the aliens by turning into Xena when she is outdoors. genius plot.
