The Reason You Almost Never See Kakashi's Face In Naruto

1. In filler episodes, Kakashi did wear his mask before his father's death (shippuden episode 421 for example but it is not the only episode, so this can not be the reason why.
2. In the manga (canon, Kakashi showed his face to Rin and Obito. In Kakashi gaiden, the first time Kakashi used chidori, he is hurt at the shoulder and Rin healed him. He did show his face at that time.
3. Also from filler episode, we know that Kakashi even cover his face when he takes a bath alone (shippuden 241.
4. He wears multiple masks.
5. In the manga (canon, tome 32, When the team come back from suna after saving Gaara from Deidara, Kakashi is put in the hospital and he doesn't have his mask on but someone put his blanket all the way up to cover his face. Obviously the nurses know his habit, but they must have seen his face.
6. At the end of the sukea episode, Kakashi says that the kids will succeed one day and see his face, and he seems to find the all mask thing really fun. Also, he isn't at all bothered even though is face la visible, so it's not that he doesn't like his face.
7. Kakashi has worn a mask all his life, it is possible that the reason why changes throughout the times.
From the two manga occurences, I take out that Kakashi doesn't really care if someone sees his face or not. He is always covering it, but if he need to take his shirt off to be healed it doesn't bother him. I don't know why he started wearing the mask, the best fan theory in my opinion is that he wanted to cover his childish face to be taken more seriously by everyone. He probably didn't want his father and the teachers to go easy on him because he was a kid, he knew he was a genius. After his father's death, maybe it was also a way to distance himself from his father, but his interaction with granny Chiyo shows that it doesn't really work, and it couldn't be the reason why he started. When he lost Rin, Obito, and Minato, maybe the mask was also a way to hide his pain, or maybe it was just the habit. Considering that he also wears a mask in his bath, it's probably more for himself than for other people, do I guess depression is the best bet for this periode of time. As an adult, now that he isn't a kid and that he isn't depressed anymore, it's probably just the habit and also that he finds it funny that people, especially his students, try to know what's underneath.
