Extraction's Ending Flawlessly Explained

Saju was ex-special ops from India who worked for Ovis Dad. Sr. Ovi.
Saju gives the contract of extracting the kid to Tyler but since he doesnt really have the money to pay Tyler, he plays Tyler and his team so he can get the kid after Tyler rescues him.
He does that to save his Family and ends up sacrificing his life to save Ovi and so his family.
Thats what makes this movie so good. Every character has grey areas and they are not just text book bad or good. They have their reasons for every move they make no matter how crazy it sounds. Even the monster of a drug lord is shown to have emotions, disappointments and tries to groom the kid who was trying to be badass. Though there was so much blood and killing and video game style violence, human emotions were captured really good.

My vote is to bring Tyler back and it starts when he goes in the water. Tyler is a beast he can survive the hell he went through to get Ovi out. Tyler and Ovi have a bond now and Tyler has come to grips with losing his son and finds the will to live through Ovi. Bring him out of the water, heal and get to Ovi - Maybe Nik goes back and gets him out - The bodyguard idea is good and maybe some flashbacks to some history of the battles Tyler and Nik had but not so sure about the romance angle. this is a bad ass fight movie with an emotional aspect with Tyler and Ovi. Perhaps that street kid makes an appearance again because he needs to be shot down! Please do not make a prequel. we need to keep Extraction alive. Tyler has more to say and more to do! Love this movie!

I mean it takes some courage but as a writer (in my opinion) I feel like you have to make a decision on the ending. I personally feel Tyler should've died and seems as though the writer wanted the same but then decided to make it ambiguous just to keep fans happy. I don't like that. I feel like you have to make a decision rather than think Well I'm too scared to make anyone upset so I'll just make a wishy washy ending and keep everyone happy. plus more money in the future for a sequel if it's a hit.

I think that Tyler survived.
A very important quote that the movie shows us is You drown not by falling in the river but by staying submerged in it.
Rake could be doing the meditation thing under the water to wait until the place calms down. Dead bodies usually float, and there was none.
Also, a bullet to neck isnt always insta dead. If the bullet missed the tubular and trachea he could survived.

The ending scene is of a foreign country not India why would Ovi be there if not for Rake, also Ovi is a grown up kid and Rake was not intensely close to him either, so I don't think if Rake died then Ovi would be imagining him. I know director left it for subjective conclusion but Rake being alive seems logically more correct.

U know what I don't think he died cus the way ovi turned to look at the blurry figure as if he was excited to see someone but if u look at the part again you will see what I mean and at the start of the movie u can see rake practicing how to breath under water so he might have swim his wat out to look for ovi like if u agree

Obscene, gratuitous violence all wrapped up in a ridiculous plot that of course has a white Superman rescuing an innocence brown person from an evil brown person whilst killing countless other brown people only to die a heroes death to the sound of orchestral strings. Extraction 2: Takes place a couple years after the first one, Ovi has trained and built his physique and uses his fathers contacts and recourses to track down and kill the kid soldier who murdered Rake and wipe out the Bangladeshis whole for his abduction and the murder of Rake and Saju.

you made a mistake. I don't think Sahu was ever working with the bangladeshi drug lord. he just was trying to extract ovi himself to avoid having to pay the mercenaries, since he didn't have the money to pay them and ovi's dad was threatening his family.

Its pretty obvious he lived. While they were hiding, Ovi said something like You dont die when you fall into the river, you die when you are submerged underwater. Because it only shows him falling into the river, it implies that he still lives.
