I enjoyed Prometheus and I actually really liked Covenant - a grim, nasty horror that really felt like an Alien film should. However - I really wish neither was made. The whole brilliance of the Alien is that we should know very little about it - it's this big, fast, jet black creature discovered by accident on an ancient Alien ship and that's all there is to it.
If there are more films to be made they should only really be sequels, free from the constraint of having to have everything fit into canon. Create a new story that pays subtle homage to the previous films that has new characters.

The one thing that I'll never get is that a team goes down to an alien planet without protective gear. If such an expedition ever happens, there's zero chance a crew would be so recklessly exposed to unknown pathogens. Look what happened to the Native Americans when the occupiers came. I doubt that lesson would be forgotten.
In the end, I know it's just a convenient plot tool to set up the first infections.

I say the fact that Avengers endgame and a lot of the Avengers content is pure garbage they should absolutely continue a great line of movies like the alien franchise. I think the movie is did not do very well it's because people are too dumb to understand what's going on and they can't think about what the plot is without being spoon-fed

Not saying I didn't want to see the origin movies. But the very idea that an alien race helped engineer a goo that inderectly made the alien xenomporph. Kind makes them less frightening. Would of been far more frightening to see the homeworld of the xenomorph, where they evolved on the planet of doom with other nightmare creatures. lol

Ridley Scott should have stuck to his guts and gone for Prometheus 2 instead of circling back to an Alien movie just because fans were butthurt when they went into Prometheus with wrong expectations. The Engineer plot was way more interesting and Prometheus had the perfect cliffhanger to continue that story.

I hope Ridley makes the follow up i will pay to watch it. David spewed up the alien and put them into the embryo colony chambers. Need more action in the next david needs more evil make the movie over 2 hours long. Come on get the film made get sigourney weaver in there and the predator go all in

Prometheus sucked. Covenant was worse. Forgettable characters and convoluted backstories. The villain is an android using whoever survives for unspeakable experiments. These films don't seem connected to the original Alien film at all. There is a GOOD REASON these films haven't done well.

covenant is cool we got so many different aliens plus the xenomorph I think it's one of the best movies in the alien universe we know that Shaws DNA was used to create the xenomorph by David experimenting with human alien DNA as he says creating the perfect being
