Making a movie confusing so as to try to give it a sense of complexity or layers doesn't necessarily translate to good. In fact it can come off pretentious and condescending and insulting to the audience's intelligence. But probably more pretentious than anything as someone with a keen sense of logic can debunk the scientific inaccuracy or even common sense inaccuracies that films create when they try to be complex. Not that this necessarily applies to Nolan's films. It could but I don't know. Point is that a good straight forward coherent story isn't a bad thing. In fact it's probably better than a complex film. I'll take coherence and clarity over nonsense pretending to be complex any day.

FYI Everyone, in the end of Inception Cobb is back in reality and not stuck in a dream because sometime last year (I think it was) Michael Caine said that Nolan told him any scene he appeared in during the movie was set in reality and not in a dream. Since you can see him at the end of the movie, it means Cobb is indeed back in reality and reunited with his kids!
Believe me I had wondered for YEARS like every one else who saw this movie if Cobb made it home or was in a dream, and then Michael Caine revealed this piece of information and I was immediately like THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Leonardo is awake at the end of inception. He doesnt have his wedding ring on. He was only still married to Moll in his dreams and wore his band in his dream. In real life he didnt wear his wedding ring. No ring= not dreaming. Ring = dreaming

Something that really confuses me is why the first 10 minutes The Dark Knight Rises feel like a fever dream
Also I gotta say the most confusing part of memento is the tattoo that only shows up for one scene with his wife in the background

IN INCEPTION MICHAEL CAINE WAS ONLY EVER IN REALITY. HE NEVER SHOWED UP IN ANY DREAMS. SO YES THE ENDING IS REALITY BECAUSE Michael Caine IS THE ONE WHO BRINGS THE KIDS INSIDE

The thing abot the teleporting was a twin. One is on stage, goes through a door, and the other one opens his door as soon as the other one is shut. Or maybe that is another movie.

What do you get?
When Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer make a movie
Call the police, Gene, call the police.
I'll tell you what you get!
You get a Masterpiece

You left out the fact that Leonard is the one that killed his wife in Memento. He forgot he had already given her the insulin for her diabetes and overdosed her.

I had no idea that Dunkirk was confusing but I also never noticed it was non-linear, especially the fact that the air story only took place over an hour.
