Things From Horror Movies That Aren't Scary Anymore. What moviegoers find scary differs dramatically from person to person but everyone can agree that some horror movie tropes are totally played out. From zombies to creepy kids to haunted dolls, these are some horror movie staples that should be laid to rest. Ken: I think today's horror movies rely too heavily on jump scares and mood music. The Ring is still scary, the OG The Omen is still scary, the Night of the Living Dead is still scary. It's not the tropes that have lost their edge its the fact that Hollywood doesn't want to invest in truly genuine horror.

Wow. So totally off base it's funny to watch. Tell you what, if you're thinking zombies are passe, and easy to kill, or whatever else this uninformed ponce said about them, roll over to Netflix and look a little title called Black Summer! These zombies can climb stairs, trees, enter windows, open doors (including unlocked car doors, run like an Olympic sprinter on crack, and can use melee weapons!
Also, clowns, kids, and creepy ass dolls will ALWAYS be terrifying.
Horribly misinformed video.

By the way you re getting conned again. Idiot. All of those espionage agents play dead when you catch them. The monsters are on the inside. They play you much better than you play them.

I like movies like the invitation or coherence.
Those are good movies that can terrify you in other ways then bashing out your ear drums.
