Holidays the Disney way. The entertainment mega-house usually finds a way to serve up some big-screen family fun during Thanksgiving week, and 2022 is no different. But what may surprise moviegoers is the holiday box office numbers coming in for Strange World, Disney Studios' latest animated offering. Daniel: Now Strange World bomb so badly at the box office, I remember watching the latest trailer. You know where they say now playing, I saw that trailer. And this will shock all of you, the critics have gave good credit to the movie. And I praise the movie.
I thought that the movie with bomb more badly, if it was badly criticized. However the critics loved the movie and gave it high praise, this is really weird.
At First the movie bombs, and then critics step in to give it high praise. All of this is odd, weird and really strange at the same time

I think a lot of people are just sick of the theater experience. At home families can: watch a movie on their large TVs, have all the snacks and drinks they want without spending 200 for them, pause the movie to go to the bathroom, no crying babies unless they are their own, and there aren't rude a-holes talking on their phones during the movie. Let's face it, the theater experience sucks. If people still like theaters, more power to them, but theaters are like horse drawn carriages when cars showed up, on their last legs and soon for the glue factory.

Ugh. more modern animation where everything looks like it was rigged with springs. Why does every animated film have this same look? If characters are devoid of emotional depth and complexity, making them bounce around like bowls of gelatin won't make them seem more alive and relatable.
It's New Hollywood Syndrome. The old writers and artists really knew what they were doing, and the new generation doesn't seem to get it.

The reason was clear and it wasn t marketing. Lightyear had tons of marketing and it still flopped meanwhile minions destroyed lightyear in the box office. Disney cares more about pushing a political agenda and families are no longer the market Disney is catering to so why would they go out and support their films if they think the wokes are gonna make them millions of bucks then they will continue to flop.

I saw the movie in the theaters and it wasn't very good. But I think the lack of marketing is the main reason nobody knew about this. And the marketing it did receive gave no clear indication of what the movie was about other than these characters were going into a world they didn't know. Honestly, I would NOT recommend to see this movie in the theaters, its simply not worth it.

There was barely any promotion for it, it's not tied to any already established franchise and the story was rather generic (it feels like a regular families' movie without any great premise such as Encanto or Zootopia. The streaming services boom since the beginning of the pandemic may also be one of the reasons why many movies have underperformed in the last 2 years.

Disney no longer knows how to promote anything without an established fanbase. They've lost that skill. They spend a fortune on winning the approval of a small number of zealous people which results in a random chance of success. The Mouse House is in trouble and the weakness that needs to be resolved is the promotion of original content.

Disney is not old school anymore! It's too much wokeness. Disney better change its ways or it's going to lose money more than it ever has lost before! It's already fighting a losing battle with a lot of families across the country if not the world.

It did not failed because of lack of promotion, it failed because this movie doesn t know its target audience. Also the characters design sucked they look like characters in a cover of a cereal box and what the hell are those noses.

I am pretty sure it has to do with the same reason buzz lightyear tanked. NO PARENT wants to take their kid to see LGBTQ agendas. People just want to see a family film, but no, they have to experience the whole agenda.

Wow strange world bomb hard for Disney not good and seeing trailers/commercials of on tv, felt like this movie is more made for Disney plus to enjoy watch on streaming then in cinema, fantastic job on the video looper.

I think people are just bored with Pixar as of late, we see so much of it and the style never really changes, personally I miss 2D animation that's what made Disney, Disney to abandon it all together is a travesty.

As a father of 2 and someone who went to Disney world twice in 5 years they re obsessed with lgbt and wokeness while jacking up theme park prices. Just entertain make things cheaper and stop preaching

Easier than that 1. It's Disney who is propaganda now, 2. The message as the drinker says, 3. It's okay to be white, 4. Hired the girl from agt that staged her own issue. go woke go broke
reply

One thing that I noticed in these last movies is that the characters look all the same. It's like they used the same character model and only changed some snall traits.
