I believe he got into an argument with some producers. He was making one blockbuster hit after another and then he just vanished. He was blacklisted.

One of my favorite movies ever. Can't imagine a better cast. The plot is awesome. Rachel is so adorable. O'Connor showed his acting range - look at Lord of Illusions for comparison.

Why would getting bitten by a scoprion be an issue? They don't have a poisonous bite.
