The Orlando Pulse shooting was where a man killed 49 people, hence why there's 49 people in the music video- he also injured 53.
He formed a shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, hence why there is rainbow face paint in the music video.
It was a truly heart-breaking incident, that's why Sia felt the need to create a music video about it.

Mark my words, when Ms. Mojo starts making lists about how some of their own lists HAVENT aged well, this list, along with its sequel list Another Top 10 Pop Songs You Didnt Know Had A Dark Meaning should be included because of the fact that their counterpart, WatchMojo, already created 2 separate lists about their own lists that also havent aged well. For instance, Top 10 Celebrity Good Girls Gone Bad hasnt aged well since it included Britney Spears.

Okay I know that Pumped Up Kicks lyrics probably aren't the best message out their but if you listen to underground horrorcore rappers like Q strange or insane poetry or even the Insane Clown Posse to me it sounds like more of the same I hate to say this but it's exactly like a horrorcore rapper named ganksta nip said in an interview let them say what they want to it's better than doing it in person.

I don't know why but Chandelier I think it's about suicide. The lyrics gives it away. It's about feeling suicidal or a failed suicide attempt. Just a matter of listening carefully. Swing from the Chandelier, live like tomorrow doesn't exist, flying like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry. Like seriously that's about hanging yourself. Come on.

Anyone else wondered what was with that puppet Ed Sheerin (might have spelled that wrong) in his very first popular song I forgot what it was called but in the video for that song there was a puppet that was made to look just like him but after that video all his videos after that never had the puppet again I thought the puppet idea was a bit odd

Come on people, EVERYBODY knows that pumped up kicks is about a school shooting. That's neither new information nor surprising or a secret. No other interpretation is possible in any way. And chandelier was pretty obvi too, I never thought it to be a party song. I didn't know turning japanese nur from the parts you played I don't regret it.
