To me, it's shows like Timeless or Marvel's Agents of Shield that are so amazing on every front (writing, action, special effects, action, score, etc, have small rabid fanbases, but just can't get the accolades or ratings they so richly deserve. If you haven't watched SHIELD since season 1, haven't watched Timeless since episode 4 (or you haven't watched them at all)- you really have no idea what you're missing. These two shows are slamming it every week. Like, yell at your tv and slap your grandma slamming it. Seriously.

How can you miss out Broad City? It's hilarious and is brilliantly written and acted; the main two characters are excellent. The vast majority of people whom I've mentioned it to haven't even heard of it.
Broad City is far funnier than all the shows you list put together.

My top 10 favorite shows, and top 10 underrated shows would have almost no crossover at all.

I love the emphasis that Ms. Mojo put on Louis C. K's role in Better Things and how they supported the show with FX having cut ties with him. It was really well said and I appreciate how they stand with people who are on the accusing end of the situation.

Okay, The Affair is the only show I've heard of here, much less watched. I live in New Zealand, and am exposed to only a few US tv shows, ones that arrive here on DVD. The Affair was awesome (but what qualifies it as 'underrated'.

Ruth Wilson on The Affair is a great actress. I have yet to see her take on a role that was unconvincing. Her transition from character to character is flawless. Only the very best can do that as skillfully as she can.

Contrary to your claim, there aren't many laughs in Fleabag. It's more of a drama than a comedy and the protagonist isn't likeable.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is much better in How Not to Live Your Life.

I watched the 1st season of Search Party & it did nothing for me. It's not bad, not good either. Just meh. The main character's friends are annoying is all I remember about it.

The Affair is painfully boring. I struggled through the first 6 episode nearly at the cost of my sanity. I came to the show for Alice from Luther but it's not worth it.
