Food Network reminds me of the MTV when it was only about showing music videos. there are very little actual cooking shows on the network now. every time I tune in there's a Chopped or triple D marathon on. I miss watching blocks of half hour cooking shows, especially 10 dollars a day, and 30 minute meals.

For me, 1) The Kitchen, 2) Pioneer Woman, 3) Good Eats, 4) The Best Thing I Ever Ate/Made, 5) Food Network Challenge, 6) Barefoot Contessa, 7) Valerie's Home Cooking, 8) Next Food Network Star, 9) Iron Chef America, and 10) Rachael Ray's $40 A Day - I'm a mix of new school with old-school.

I love many of theses shows, but I'd love to see the network expand their programming horizons. Playing fictional movies about food like Rataouille or Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Maybe do a Saturday morning block playing Chowder and Cooking With Luis from Nickelodeon

Okay, see quite I few I would personally swap out with Restaurant Impossible, Mystery Diners, Cupcake Wars, the many different Baking Championships, and Secret Eats, to name some. I honestly can't stand Guy. just ugh. Obviously, this is just my opinion

i LOVE Chopped! I was so glad to see it was #1. It is so amazing to watch how creative these people get with four seemingly random items thrown together and having to make a meal. It also taught me how to bread meat with eggs.

Guys Grocery games is very popular BUT Good Eats was the greatest cooking show ever created. Entertaining and Educational hosted by Alton Brown, the most talented and charismatic food network personality of all time.

Am I the only one who thinks the guy who hosts Iron Chef America looks a lot like the actor who played Master Ubeulon from Kamen Rider Dragon Knight?
Or am I thinking of the first Iron Chef America?

reply

Really I will be more impressed when you choose a family in food bank line and only cook with the food they were given. I challenge all the food show celebrities to the challenge. Rise to the challenge

I admit Triple D holds a special place in my heart. Mostly due to meeting Guy Fieri in person a few years back at a food /wine festival. He is just like his tv persona, very nice and down to earth!
reply

The best season of food network star was when the judges became coaches. Alton Brown was by far the best coach. He wasnt coaching his players to win. He was coaching them to be better cooks.
reply

I loved Good Eats and Cutthroat Kitchen. However, Food Network has gone downhill. For example, I refuse to watch anything involving Guy Fieri. He's a homophobic loudmouth douchebag.
reply

I am shocked Emil was not mentioned and no one shows you how to cook anymore. That is why I stopped watching. Some with HGTV. They stopped showing you how to decorate.
reply

Good Eats, 30 Minute Meals, and the Barefoot Contessa are the shows that developed my love for cooking. Im so glad they made it in the top 10. Great list msmojo!
reply

My least favorite show of all time is Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I'm at number 5, I have a feeling I'm about to thumbs down my first watchmojo video
reply

I disagree! Good Eats is definitely number one. At least put Unwrapped and Paula's Home Cooking in the honorable mentions. And where's Giada at home?
reply

After she refused to meet a fan who wanted to meet her through the Make A Wish Foundation, I am not a fan of the Barefoot Contessa.
reply

I am so pleased and excited that my favorite show made number 1. I can't name an episode I haven't seen. I love, love, love Chopped
reply

Me: #1 - Barefoot Contessa
#2 - The rest (except any show that stars Guy Fieriabsolutely cannot stand that homophobic asshole)

reply

How many people parents made you watch good eats and thought it was boring at first and then couldnt stop watching it
reply

these people have not even heard of the best shows like Rick Stein's seafood lovers guide. Keith Flloyd, etc.
reply

i really love beat bobby flay, diner drive ins and dives, and i also love guys grocey games: ) i love food network: )
reply

I loved watching Food Network growing up. Ina Garten, Rachel Ray, Guy, Paula Dean, Giada, etc etc. All that, man.
reply

i thought i was the only one that loved 'Good Eats'. but i wish 'Unwrapped' had been included in the list.
reply

No Molto Mario or East meets West? Good Eats should be #1 only because it is actually educational.
