As much as I love 95 % of what Coco gives us, I'm irked by how Miguel is prepared to give up music for his family (or really, he would have done it just to please Imelda.
It is presented as a heart-warming beautiful moment, but he was basically agreeing to become unhappy and let the family stay dysfunctional for no good reason.
Yeah, that is not how the movie ended, and I must say that I like that Miguel at least insisted that the family would help Hector, or he wouldn't give Imelda any promises.
And he still was the only one in the family, who dared to be sassy to Imelda.
But that moment when Miguel was prepared to (try to) give up music shouldn't have been there.
Especially as there was a great scene earlier when he told Imelda that he shouldn't have to make a choice between his passion and his family.

As someone with mental disorders, I think the Inside Out one was my favorite. All emotions can build up, we just don't see happiness build up since that's the one everyone wants to express all the time. (It's also why Try Not to Laugh challenges get harder the longer they take and you end up laughing at the dumbest things) I think that was a bigger lesson in the story since Joy tried so hard to keep Sadness contained. The harder Joy tried to keep Sadness away, the more Sadness lost control and started corrupting everything out of instinct. Her power over Riley was building up and she was just releasing it until Joy let Riley feel upset again

One important thing I have learned from Pixar is never be afraid to try something new. Back when A Bugs Life came out I was still hooked on Toy Story so I wasnt that into it, but as I got older and Pixar made a name for themselves I began to like the other films they made and I loved their ability to go behind the scenes with things like toys coming to life when kids arent around, monsters living in another world beyond the closet, or traveling to the land of the dead. We can all learn something from Pixar.

Some of my life lesson takeaways are a bit different from some here:
Monsters inc: It's okay to be different.
Coco: People's success doesn't reflect who they really are.
WALL-E: Running away from our problem is not the solution.
Inside out: You will never know what's wrong when you're always happy.
Finding Nemo: Our dad are capable of loving us the same way as our mom.
Up: Marriage is a journey.
Toy story franchise: Happiness is relative to your stage in life.

I am not saying it is one of the best pixar film, but I think that monsters university theme about failure was good theme. Failure is apart of life, but mike found that his failure wasn't the worst outcome. So I think that, while it could have been in a better movie, the theme of failure was a good one, and should at least get an honorable mention.
reply

I am really disappointed by the vapid and seriously shallow analysis of something as important as themes in Disney's art. Seriously bummed Ms. MOJO. You would spend 20 mins on a video about Kim Kardashian's different hairstyles but half of these theme synopses aren't even slightly developed. Bummer

I think Coco taught me more than family value, but the fear of being forgotten.
If someday I died, will someone remember me. My best friend passed away 2 years later and this movie push me to meet him, even tough we can't hug each other anymore.
I am just grateful Coco tell me about this lesson

As an individualist, Braves message strongly resonated with me, even if the pacing and story structure were a bit uneven. In a world thats becoming increasingly rigid and tribalistic, thinking for oneself instead of slavishly going with the flow is a peachy thing to be reminded of.

I understand this is suppose to be inspirational (it is and I enjoyed it as always cuz Rebecca and the crew are beyond awesome af) but I feel like the background music is a bit bleak. but just my opinion keep doing your thang MsMojo

The Toy Story series is always special to me, and the lesson on friendship is 100% key. Woody and Buzz are the perfect duo. Although they parted ways at the end of Toy Story 4, their friendship is To Infinity and Beyond.
reply

And yes. I would only loved: Coco! One of the best year movie ever!
- He's right, nothing is more important then family.
Migule is right at one point. No one has to be forgotten.

reply

Hey, you. Yeah, you. You see that name above this comment? Thats my name. And the last name is the same as Miguels in Coco. Also, I play the mini guitar (ukulele) and love music.
reply

In my point of view, there are two lessons to Coco. Family is important, but is also important for a family to supportive. Miguel can be a musician and live with his family.
reply

But, Coco was just a beautiful masterpiece animation Pixar movie that made me cries alot. Becuz, there is so many emotional scenes that mks me cried when I watched alone.
reply

#3 embrace all your feelings is a good thing. Another way to word it is you don't always need to be happy. In fact over happiness isn't very good for your mental health
reply

Love is stronger than programming.
I got this quote from somewhere, but I don't remember where
Edit: I was talking about Wall-E if you couldn't tell

reply

I think the lessen from wall-e is dont pollute or there will be too much trash in your face
(You wont get that unless youve seen that movie like a lot)

reply

Now we need a pixar movie about animation, and how its okay to love it as an adult, because people can't grasp it despite so many good animated movies.
reply

I have watched every single one of them. Some are more than once.
Can anyone suggest me animation movies like these?
Big animation fan.

reply

i don't think very many people took those lessons seriously just look at twitter and social media they harm the world more then help it
reply

I feel the lesson in The Incredibles should be ranked higher. It is an important lesson for both kids & adults! Thanks for this list Emily.
reply

No matter how many times I watch wall-e I will always cry
It was one: the first movie I've ever seen
It was also 2: just heartwarming

reply

Before watching this i wanna say meet the robinsons should be here
Edit: okay it was not here it's my favorite keep moving forward

reply

I love every pixar movie there is exept I didn't enjoy cars 3 because they made lightning mcqueen old. But I really liked the first one.
reply

Stand up to your fears (The Good Dinosaur)
Love your brothers (Onward)
Learn from your mistakes and let others help (Lightyear)

reply

Disney and Pixar during it's glory days. The telling of good stories that give important life lessons instead of pushing woke agenda.
reply

Coco also taught me to remember my loved ones even after their death because one Ill die too and we all need people to remember us
reply

I would put Inside Out where Toy Story is and move Toy Story second! Nothing good happens when you try to stifle your emotions!
