It was pre-MeToo, but as a rape survivor. I was astounded at the inclusion of Mike Tyson in the opening number that MoJo placed at #1. I love Broadway theater, the Tonys and NPH, but seeing a convicted rapist appear brought me out of my excellent mood, and I didn't recover the simple joy for the remainder of the program. Move Hugh Jackman's Boy from Oz number up to #1, which is where it belonged anyway. In fact, Jackman's number that was included in the Honorable Mentions, and Sutton Foster's number from Anything Goes (there must be great tap dancing in the Top Ten) should both be in the Top Ten.
And rapists should never be included.

I've always liked Neil but, I started to love him when he came out, unabashedly himself and not being who others wanted him to be. He's got it all, the triple threat. I'm very, very gay and I'm a woman but I've been out for for forty years. I was never ashamed, I was proud because I was alittle bit different. I was hit on in my teens by boys and girls, but I liked the girls. I still do. Gay is not fixable. Gay is not a sin (I don't believe in God) so, to me, their is no sin, no heaven or hell. I'm deliriously happy. Gay Pride for all. Yay Patrick. I think I love you, but not that way. Gay pride forever!

Admittedly the audience for this show is heavily biased in favor of a good stage production, but when that audience gives you a one minute standing ovation then you have done something great. NPH did that with 'bigger'.

does anyone know how do i find that performance of Michael in the bathroom with James Corden (it was kind of a parody, the lyrics changed but it was still that song) and suddenly Neil goes out from a bathtube?
reply

2011 was by far the best year. The opening, the Jackman and NPH duet, and Andrew Rannells setting the ratings record for his I believe performance that still hasn't been close to beaten today.

Huge ackman bunny hop should not be not his best compared to one night only which was Soo much better and possibly should have been with boy next door and maybe hello from book of Mormon

The 2013 show will probably never be topped. It had everything and none of the jokes laid an egg. Now I realize why there were so many words in the songs though. That Lin Manuel. Shew!

Bigger definitely deserves top spot! The music, lyrics, and choreography were amazing, original and breath-taking! It got a standing ovation for a reason!

That number 1 really is the biggest, the best and the most memorable thing I've seen from the Tonys ever. It was moving, entertaining and incredibly fun.
reply

Well we all knew Neil Patrick harris performance in 2013 will be number 1, all his performances were amazing but that one was LEGEND wait for it. DARY

Bigger is the most entertaining show opening of all times. You can watch it again and again and it's always as amazing as the first time. 100% right

The broadway divas will forever be my all time favorite. Patti Lupone, Jennifer Holiday, and Betty Buckley blew it out of the water.

You forgot NPHs rap at the end of the 65th Tony's. Written by LMM throughout the night on the fly and performed with no rehearsal. EPIC!
reply

Wow someone out there saw James Corden's performance as a cat and said Wow - what a show stopper he should be in my screen adaptation

Being three years younger, I had a childhood crush on Neil Patrick Harris when he starred as Doogie on Doogie Howser M. D.: P

I think the sailors were supposed to be On The Town because sailor play a more important part in that than in Anything Goes
reply

Nothing less can be expected than Bigger when brilliance of Neil Patrick Harris and Lin-Manuel Miranda is combined.
reply

I am so happy that number 1 was bigger, cause not only did NPH sing it and stars Mike tyson, but lyrics were from LMM
reply

NPH is awesome guys but, seriously, I love That Could Be Me from James Corden. Like it's my favorite thing ever!
reply

Updated list: Live, 2019 ceremony, James Cordon and literally everyone from a nominated show that night.
reply

It would be great if you'd actually show clips of the shows with sound and let them play for a little bit.
