Ms Mojo really does need to listen to more music written and performed before 2000, especially for lists like this. I would suggest you listen to The FIxx, Simple MInds, Genesis, Suzanne Vega, Peter Gabriel and The Police. You could also try heavier bands like PInk Floyd, Queensryche or Living Colour. All of these artists and more artists from the 80's and 90's created incredibly provocative and hook laden songs. Also, why wasn't Band-Aid, Hear-n-Aid, USA for Africa or even Black Men United mentioned. They could've combined for one slot, seeing as those they were one time collaborations of several artists for a specific purpose.

honestly Gaga's Born This Way is the ONLY song that blatantly talks about social issues
the fact that she released this risky song at the peak of he career and took that big of a risk
it literally has the words Gay, straight, Bi, Transgender, Black, White, Lebanese etc
Nobody and i mean NOBODY has the balls to release something like this at the peak of their careers or at any time EVER

How in the holy hell did nothing off the entire Rhythm Nation 1814 album NOT make this list?
Rhythm Nation
State of the World
Livin in a World (They Didn't Make)
Black Cat
Just to name a few of the singles on the album. Completely missed.
Disgusting.

Social Justice is a theme that won't go away until achieved. The light of men is Justice. Quench it not with the contrary winds of oppression and tyranny. The purpose of justice is the appearance of unity among men. No radiance can compare with that of justice. Baha'i Faith

To anyone who is wondering where a certain song is, please ask yourself these following questions:
1. Is this your video?
2. Do you think that everyone must share the same opinions?
3. Is WatchMojo going to actually care enough to film this video again?

Unpretty by TLC should have been on here. It discusses how you can put on all the makeup that you want or get plastic surgery if you're unhappy with your appearance but until you discover the true beauty within yourself, you'll never feel truly pretty

Born This Way came out exactly when I was junior high school and it really changed my life, as I was having hard time fitting in with my peers. I can't imagine my life differently. Thank you Lady Gaga.

While I agree that Man in the Mirror belongs on the list, the narrative refers to Jackson's lyrics. He didn't write this one. Siedah Garrett and Glen Ballard did. They deserve credit.
reply

Michael Jackson was not only the King of Pop, but the King of delivering message about life. John Legends Imagine Song still holds out for an inspiration.
reply

How about you include some conservative messages as well, like Michael Jackson's Abortion Papers? Oh no you can't do that, right?
reply

One Direction's what makes you beautiful and Bruno Mars' just the way you are should be on here. And so should Sara barellies' brave
reply

Man In The Mirror! That song makes me want to be a better person every time I hear it. That song is easily number 1
