Top 10 Times Mr. Big Was the WORST

Top 10 Times Mr. Big Was the WORST

Mr. Big was always such a jerk in Sex and the City. For this list, were looking at all the times that Mr. Big was inconsiderate, disrespectful or just downright awful. Remember the time he buys Carrie the duck purse? Or how about when he quickly got engaged to Natasha? How about when he leaves Carrie at the altar?

I never cared for the show. All I could ever see was disgusting capitalist excess masquerading as feminism. It really didn't age well when you watch it now. The number of racist and homophobic tropes, plus the way it presents living in New York City- as if a person that writes a back-page column once a week could EVER afford to live as Carrie does- really makes it unwatchable. The whole thing is superficial in the extreme and we're supposed to believe this is what freedom for women looks like. This is unfortunately what white feminists created in the 90s as they succumbed to the end of history mythology about late-state, neoliberal economics and empire.

Sorry but I blame Carrie.
Dont get me wrong Big is selfish and insufferable but THATS WHO HE IS and Carrie just refuses to accept him for who he is. She is constantly expecting him to change or do something different or painting him in a flattering light.
Throughout the series he was the same person he did the same shitty things with the same causal attitude yet Carrie was always willing to excuse it or spin it and stay.
Its like if you have a dog and you dont put them on a leash and they bite someone. You cant blame the dog because all he knows how to be is a dog. You blame the owner who should have never let him run loose!

I would have mentioned the scene where he leaves a wedding to take a phone call while Carrie is reading a love poem to the room. Later she calls him out on it, and about how he didn't want to give a gift wih both their names on it. He had his reasons, don't get me wrong, but during the argument he tried to be cute but when that didn't work, he made faces and rolled his eyes like a sulky teenager. It was a pouty, spoiled side of him I never got past seeing.

i can list 100 times he was the worst. He was like this toxic leech that just sat around complaining and being negative. And for some strange reason, Carrie was addicted to him. Like what, you like his huge nose and saggy under eye bags? Or his pissy attitude about literally everything?

I honestly don't think Big was that bad. Carrie was a horrible communicator, she never really told Big what she wanted from him, but then would get mad when he didn't give it to her. She played just as many games with him as he did with her and gave him ultimatums left, right, and center.

Honestly, there were so many last straw moments. But definitely, in the movie. After EVERYTHING. The fact that he even considered leaving her at the alter. Then actually did. That should have been it. She should have NEVER taken him back. It was a horrible message.

Sorry but big may seem like a jerk but its Carrie who is truly delulu
If the man isnt giving you a shred of his sincere attention in two years but marries off a 25 year old he dated for over five months, girl have some self respect and move on

You cannot simply hold brining her an expensive clutch from Judith Leiber against him. Its a thoughtful gesture and most men are clueless about womens fashion, he basically brought her what he sees familiar in his surroundings give him a break
reply

Initially Big wasn't that bad. He told her pretty early what he was on. Once Carrie kept on hanging around, his character progressively got worse. He then became a true douche by stringing her along and popping up when convenient.

Big managed to show up for his wedding to his forest two wives. Carrie should have cut him off! Way before that but certainly then. She gets a boring courthouse wedding with a meal at a diner afterwards. Every woman's dream.

This show is awful! It taught a generation of women that gaslighting, emotional abuse, and a controlling partner equal love. It does not! Big is a excellent example of a shitty man. You see any of those signs, you run!

I feel like they should've included that he harassed her while she was with Aidan also assaulted her at the elevator since he was drunk. It seems romantic but mute it the situation is tense and discomforting
reply

I will never understand why she finally forgave him after his not showing up at the wedding. He made her feel so pathetic even after everything she made through with him. It just couldn't have been worse.

I was with someone who was like Mr. Big, after he moved to the West Coast from the East Coast, 6-8 months later he calls me to tell me he got married. lol 1 year later, I found out they got divorced. -_-
reply

I loved it when Samatha put the moves on him in the cigar lounge. He let her down fast and let her know he was only interested in Carrie. Sadky Samantha thought he was a handsome version of trump. Lol
reply

Every single thing about this guy is rapey. The smarmy grin, the creepy eyebrows, and he was boring as hell. Now they all wanna pretend he never existed after promoting him as the ideal man. Disgusting.
reply

When he was good he was great but when he was bad he was really hopeless. Carrie didnt do a very good job at communicating until she broke but he really needed to work on being more self aware
reply

Big is a kind of guy that only wants you when he can't have you. You want this guy, keep being out of grasp. Drive him insane in quest of chasing you and he'll love you forever.
reply

So far out of her style? The swan purse? Are you kidding? With all the ugly crap she wears? The swan is all wrong? Sorry I think it would have been perfect for her shes worn way worse
reply

Its weird to see anyone NOT see the red flags with Aiden as wel as Big Aiden was NOT accepting of Carrie how she was nor did he respect her boundaries and was often manipulative

Every time i might be PMS and tired and tempted for a millisecond to miss my awful toxic cheating ex (a 10 year marriage i ended 3 months ago, i re-watch this video. NEVER AGAIN
reply

I thought that at the end of Carrie's relationship with the pork pie hat man, when he pulled out his banjo and started to play it, he summed her up completely. Priceless
reply

Carrie was treated the way she allowed herself to be treated. I think that Big was honest. He didn't want a serious relationship and he was honest about it.
reply

He only wanted Carrie when she was involved with someone else as if the game was to see if he could get her back & how long it would take for him to do it
reply

I think that the number one was worse because he turned around after burning the bridge and tried to fix it like that. It made it so much more painfull
reply

She got what she deserved, remember she screwed Adian over twice. You reap what you sow but in her cloud fazed conceit she sees no fault in her actions.
reply

It wasn't logic. it was love, (or it was Hollywood's message to women - one that goes - You are not worth anything, so marry a man who knows that ok)
reply

He was such a dck to her. In real life her friends would of told her to get rid and move on. She didn't t need any of that toxic nonsense.
reply

god, after all these situations, having his character drop dead in the new season was the most compassionate thing he could do.
reply

I hope a generation of women didnt grow up thinking that this relationship is how its supposed to be when youre in love. Ugh
