I was a teen in the early 2000's so the getting to know someone through phone and text felt nostalgic even sadly. the catfishing. It was waay easy to catfish back then so to see it in a movie today was interesting. I didn't like it much, though I recognize it to be a part of the plot so it's fine for plot point.
All in all I liked it. I could relate to Sierra back in middle school and 2 years of high school I was the classic overweight with acne girl. But, then they put me on meds for bipolar disorder which made me not hungry and ultimately lose weight. Yeah, I had the Insatiable change up only I wasn't a bad it's good movie. I just was a mess lol.

I feel like people have a hard time understanding what the message is about this movie. The point of Sierra is to have a flawed protagonist and show that not every main character in movies are suppose to be likable and nice. This movie explores the imperfections we have with ourselves and what we do because of them, this movie isn't just a rom com and I guess some people just see it as that, I would try to open up a little more to the other themes of the movie before you say it's bad because someone did something that wasn't good, people make bad and wrong decisions everyday, it's how we deal with them that tells a story.

More like five reasons why people shouldn't watch it.
-Lying and cat fishing someone is wrong.
-Using someone so they can pretend to be them (especially someone who is going through a lot, even if she wasn't nice) to continue to lie is not a good thing.
-Kissing someone without their permission as they are expecting someone else can be seen as harassment.
-Betraying and publicity humiliating someone who agreed to help you and basically set them up in such a situation is horrible.
-The main character never really learned or faced any long term serious consequences for her actions just sets a bad message.

I love Noah Centineo and Veronica was a standout, but Sierra was the WORST. Honestly, she never apologized to Veronica for what she did and hid behind the you dont know what its like to be me cop-out to excuse her horrible behaviour. Veronica had a worse life than Sierra, but still considered her a friend and was good to her. Sierra was slimy and selfish, treating most people like pawns and I wouldnt have minded a bad ending if it meant she got her dues for using others. I wanted better for Noah and this movie wasnt it. Also a massive underuse of Lea and Chrissy!

I was excited about seeing this film. I thought the cast did a good job (I especially liked Shannon Purser, but I was disappointed. I would have like the characters to have been a little more fleshed out. I also felt what Sierra did at the end of the film was reprehensible - and there seemed to be no real consequences for her actions. If you like the concept of the film, but are looking for a better execution, try watching The Truth About Cats and Dogs. It's a wonderful little film from back in the mid 90's.

I personally didn't like this movie, the main character seemed shallow and hateful towards her best friend and what she did to her was so mean! Veronica deserved to be with jamey, their chemistry was brilliant. In really life there is no way jamey would end up with sierra after everything just because of a song (just my opinion) It would have been a much better message if sierra apologised for everything she did and came to turn with who she is and loved herself without jamey picking her.

Love this movie. I can feel how does it feel to be Sierra. How insecure she feel for herself because of what she look, which is caused by world conspiracy about what beauty is. Im watching the movie right now but its getting really awkward and I hate watching through awkward scenes, and not to mention all the buffering. It takes me like ten minutes to see one minute of the movie, so id really appreciate if someone explain the plot out to me from about halfway through the end. Like the 1: 10 mark.

Cute movie. But, I personally feel that it should have ended with Jamie not being able to forgive Sierra for what she did and instead Sierra ends up with her best friend. It would totally flip viewers expectations, as well as relay the message that no one is gonna just straight up forgive you for what Sierra did.

I feel like Veronica should have got a happy ending. I hated the ending. What Sierra did was terrible. She literally stalked and cat fished her crush plus treated her friends like trash yet she still got a happy ending.
