There is a historical fact you forgot to add the reason why Disney have their princess fall in love on the first meeting is because in really life Really royal princess did marry on the first meeting like marie Antoinette to the future king of France, bloody Mary Tudor she married her husband after seeing his portrait, also if you were to look up the history of people in higher classes many did marry so soon after their first meeting because most likely to the many illnesses & deaths that were around at the time. Meaning you needed to get married as soon you come of age & start a family so that your children can inherit your family future or title. Encase you die childless & the family name dies, in those days family names & titles were a big deal. So that's where these ideas come from, they are from the old period of when you had to get married as soon as you come of age.

For some of those movies, beauty was part of the plot: The evil queen in Snow White only tried to kill the princess because she was told the princess was more beautiful than she was. Belle was beautiful to attract the villain Gaston who was determined to only marry the most beautiful woman and to teach the lesson that appearances don't matter when the most beautiful girl chose a beast over a handsome man (which I found annoying because Disney decided to turn the beast into a handsome prince when the movie would have had more of an impact if he had stayed a beast.
But, you also have to admit, a woman with the power and wealth of a princess would probably be the most beautiful woman you'll find because they can afford any beauty enhancement possible, especially in modern day with stuff like botox and plastic surgery

That's kind of what I liked about the first Frozen. Because they took some of the tropes I found most irritating, made fun of them, and threw them out the window:
Love at first sight and a handsome prince being a hero: Anna fell in love with a handsome prince at first sight, then turned out to be the villain and tried to kill Elsa and leave Anna for dead
True Love's Kiss and a man saving the day: Anna was cursed and an act of true love was the only cure. But, Anna saved herself from a curse and her act of true love had nothing to do with a man, but willingly sacrificing herself for her sister instead
Animal Sidekick: . debatable. Does Olaf or Sven count as an animal sidekick because it sure as hell wasn't her horse and Sven actually belonged to Christoff

Well, I'm starting to not mind the damsel cliche either because well. Let's face it, I'm a woman and I'm not a big strong warrior. I'm just saying, believing a woman can easily fight or be some warrior without say training or body build up, is just asking for them to hurt themselves. Trust me, I was a teen that believed this because teens can be idiots. Learned it the hard way.
Girls can be strong and men can even be the one distress, it's interesting but we also shouldn't fault a woman for wanting to be more gentle and a man for masculinity and we should also note that it's okay for those of both genders to be either the one that needs saved or the one that can be strong.

Brave was not historically accurate. Merida would have had power since she is a princess. There would have no fight between mother and daughter. The daughter alone decides who she can date. Tiana had one historically inaccurate thing it. Tiana would not have needed to marry her prince. Tiana would not have been able to open her restaurant if she's not a princess already. Tiana would not have any power if she's not a princess. Tiana being a princess means she'd get respect from everyone.

#2 most disney movies are musical movies, so that means that there is a formula: when something is too emotional to say you sing and when it's too emotional to sing you dance. If you pay atention to this you'll see that is starts with somebody talking, then the music starts, after the music starts they sing, and if thats not enough to express there emotions they dance.

Most of these are not Disney princesses cliches, they are mythemas we find in every culture, every era, every mythological universe, literally in the entire storytelling nature of human beings, directly coming from the collective unconscious in form of archetypes and archetypal elements and symbols: the hero, the coming-of-age journey, the marriage and so on.

How can people really call Snow White cliche- when it was first? Plus, the princesses reflect the times which is why as they progress, they become more independent. You can't expect a 50s princess like Cinderella when at those time girls expected to grow up, get married, and maybe work.

Ms. Walt Disneys wife wrote a book about him. In it she mentions Walt was obsessed with thinking he was adopte although he wasnt. I think this is where the orphaned princess (I know he wasnt gay) comes from. ;Unffortunately, I dont remember the name of the book.

Pocahontas and Mulan, 90s Princesses, never had to be rescued. Nor did Belle or Jasmine really.
But they all had animal sidekicks and could sing. Those are the biggest cliches.
