This show is complex In nature, so its not for everyone. But doesnt mean its not worth watching. If youve enjoyed Cloud atlas or Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind then youll understand the depth behind this series. Its intertwined with multiple characters and story lines who all coincide with one another, to reach great purpose for healing from self destruction or self doubt. While making you laugh along the way in a witty retro future. Jonah and Emma really made the series come to life, I couldnt imagine anyone else playing the roles of Owen(subject1)or Annie(subject9. So again if your not intrigued by deep subject that really makes you think outside the box then maybe this show is not for you. But many will enjoy the craziness behind the mind of Maniac so enjoy the ride.

I totally agree with disorienting. But more on the early episodes. I just finished watching the whole series earlier and to my surprise, I Laughed & Cried, its very brilliantly beautifully made. Definitely gives you that inception feeling early on but as you go on forward. you start to just get used to the disoriented-ish theme it gives.
I literally got netflix yesterday just for this series. No regrets. Must watcher.

Really a terrific show. Its a deep dive into personal/mental problems through increasingly connected realities which is simultaneously very entertaining, touching, and enlightening. It hits on the HEAVY subject matter of self acceptance while not being too heavy, too light, nor too far fetched to understand. Seriously, watch it

I wouldnt say completely unique. LEGION on FX has Trippy visuals and reality/mind warping concepts. They even used similar music on the end of episode two with the orchestra playing the low tones

Best new show that I have seen in YEARS. It's so deep and has so many different layers to it. If you watch it, be sure to pay close attention. You can miss a lot of little things.
