I feel vindicated. I grew up with the original series, and it was obvious to me back then that the show wasn't as good as He-Man. It wasn't until I got older that I understood it was only created to sell merchandise to little girls, so nobody cared to put all that much effort into it. I didn't understand it then, but it was disheartening when I grew up and realized how little girls mattered back then. I didn't know it then, but I felt the message everywhere around me. The girl is never as important as a boy. If you were a girl, you were lesser. You exist only to be the token girl who always screwed up and needed to be rescued from herself, or we were the dick bait that didn't need character development.
This new series is the show I needed as a little girl and I'm glad the little girls of back then are now adults writing the shows little girls (and little boys who love girly things) NEED in their lives. I'm glad to see the characters finally living up to the potential that was always hidden and given the respect they deserve as character. They just needed someone who cared to unlock it.
Shadow Weaver is actually my favorite. Lorraine Toussaint is a goddess.

I really don't like the 2018 She-ra, I just don't. It takes away from everything the original She-ra built, it includes modern, adultish themes that should never been seen in a kids show, the writing is really weak, and the characters are mostly unlikable. The only that were actually improved upon and that I liked were Shadow Weaver, Scorpia, Huntara and Hordak. Yes, the bad guys are better than any of the good guys. I did somewhat like the more diverse cast of characters, like Bow and Nettossa, but it just. really let me down in terms of expectations. I guess I liked Double Trouble too? But seriously? There's no such thing as non-binary, why would you use it?

So, I see people in the comment section that adora is 15 or 16. And Adora is actually 18 and so is glimmer, bow, Catra, scorpia, and basically all other characters that isnt Angella, Micah, Shadow weaver, Hordak, Madam Razz, and entrapta. And D O N T even dare say that entrapta is underaged to date Hordak because Entrapta is in her 30s. And yes. Hordak is probaly over 50 but hes a alien. So there for his age doesnt matter. Realistically though hordaks mental age is around like 34-37. So yes. Entraptak is fully legal.

I'm cool with the Cal-Arts Design for the show. The old show still exists and I wanna say the comics are still a thing. There's always back issues if the title was canceled. I only read the first few issues back when the New 52 just got its start so yeah I'm not on my current events. Anyway I digress. The original show was meant for small children; if you're pissed because Adora/She-Ra is not hot like she was back in 1986, you're doing A LOT wrong with your life. Get some new friends.

I grew up watching the 80s version when i was younger. i owned all the DVDs and would watch them over and over again. ive been a die hard fan since i was 6. and saying that, i LOVED the new version. i binged the whole thing in two days and couldnt get enough of it. sure, it wasnt 100% accurate to the original, but that doesnt make it bad. in fact, i honestly liked the new version more than the original. it absolutely doesnt deserve the hate its getting

My middle kid was really into lumberjanes. We were waiting for his other mom to finish her shift and we headed over to the comic book section (of course: D) we came accross lumberjanes in TPB form and he was hooked. Read the first volume and took 2 and 3 home. We wanted to find more comics by her and we saw that she was going to work on shera so we caught the premiere on Netflix. XD now were just sad because we have to wait for season 2

To all my boys and girls. I know where you are coming from and all your not satisfied greyscull needs of the new shit. BUT. Stop being a Karren and watch it! Imagine it's the prequel that no one questions about the graphics and everyone focuses on the plot of how and why. (and please imagine Adora and Catra as in OUR ADORA AND CARTRA doing this shit. Thank me later(Also it's 2020 right now so just move on people)

This show had a lot of potential, but all of the creative staff involved have absolutely no idea who these characters are and why they have endured in fandom for almost 35 years, and neither do they care. They just use the property recognition to do whatever they want. Come up with something original, Dreamworks. don't bastardize beloved characters for the sake of modernization.

Can we go back to a time where it was okay to be a strong, feminine hero?
The reboot is fine but I'm not really a fan of the new designs. Go diversity and everything but the art style seems kind of simple and bland for me. But hey, people have their art style preferences and for those who are inspired and love the show I hope it goes well.

I love this show and the original! I do have some issues, mainly with continuity. What do they have her saying By the Honor of Greyskull if they have no intention of introducing He-Man. It's out of context to me. Otherwise, I dig it.

Let's be honest not a reboot but a adaptation of the original one. She Ra is a adaptation. Like Jimmy Chu's horrific Jem And The Holograms adaptation. simple like that. glad that they spare poor Adam/He-Man. of this adaptation.

my little sister was interested in this show but i told my mom how unprofessionally some of the she ra staff behave on social media, encouraging bullying and hatred, so she didn't allow my sister to watch it

Idk, but for me the new She-ra Reboot is way better. the old She-ra characters have no expressions, and they all look the same. Let's not talk about the eyes and the weird voice of Catra in the 80's.

And again a classic show was ruined with a new crappy remake. There are people on Deviantart who can make better animations. This looks even more cheap as the Thundercats remake.

The quality between the reboot and the original are so vast they don't share the same time zones. Let me be very clear, the reboot is the better of the two.

They made an adult into a teen like they do all reboots which gets annoying
Not to mention they altered her backstory and lineage completely

I sincerely hope Netflix changes they're mind and brings this show back. It is way too good and there is so much more to explore.

Theres a few reasons why I like this show, but the main one is that its 2D animation, which you dont see much these days.

If She-Ra can follow Voltron, Dreamworks will also have to do with another irrationally cranky fandom.

At least the Cal Arts style fits this current incarnation of She-Ra better than Filmation's Barbie dolls
