Something that bothers me about Corpse Bride is it caused people to hate Victoria, Victor's true love and fiance. When she like Emily has a truly sad background herself. We all know Emily was from a rich family, longed for true love and was murdered after being seduced and manipulated.
However, Victoria is obviously repressed and abused emotionally and psychologically by her parents, keeping her locked up and calling her a liar. Their concern over money is relatable, but their obsession with keeping their status over their daughters wellbeing and happiness is rather saddenning. Often treating her like she is useless, in the way and regret even having her. She is miserable and later forced into an arranged marriage with the same man who murdered Emily, who planned on doing the same to Victoria to claim her supposed wealth despite her parents being bankrupt.
The only love and happiness she has ever known in her life is her engagement to Victor, not caring that he is a fish merchant's son, that he is common and obviously lower class. She loves him for him, and he loves her for her.
Two lonely souls who find comfort in each other, defending one another from the judgement of their parents. Victor becoming a talented pianist or artist, while she would be a loving housewife or dressmaker in my opinion. I bet he could even teach her to play Piano

I know that a lot of comments are already present here, but there is something I want to ask: Am I just the only one that think that both Shrek and Fiona do not look ugly? Sure they are not humans (anymore) but aprart from their green skin and their odd shaped ears, I don't think that they look absolutely hideous. The Shrek and the Princess from the original book look way more ugly. In fact I think that the Shrek and Fiona from the movies look quite normal.

Thumbelina has always been my favorite since I was young! The love story, the sheer determination and will of both parties to find each other once again, and the whole story itself always makes my stomach fill with butterflies and my heart swoon

I'm sorry, but Snow White should not be on the list, especially as high as it is on the list. The prince and Snow White barely even knew each other. That bothered me even as a kid. I also think Tangled should have at least made the list.

disagree with beauty and the beast being first, also snow white should not even be on the list. First should be wall-e hands down the best one. corpse bride should be higher on the list as well.

SO happy that Beauty and the Beast is number one bc the whole story is about how true unconditional love could break the spell, and it is my favorite Disney animated film of all time!

Why the hell is Up after Thumbelina? Even tho it was only 8 minutes its still a better love story than Thumbelina as a whole movie
