Cameron Diaz really carried the role to the tee. so brittle and bipolar. I think the movie tend to be everlasting because it seem so realistic for the screenplay, you'd have met many determined like Julia, there's gay everywhere and the lead actor was sort of stoic. it happens everyday. The relatives was sort of standing there to celebrate. and they couldn't sniff these background 'dramas'. Gosh they even don't know that George is, gay!

Originally, at the luncheon scene, when she tried it on and couldn't get it off, they went to the kitchen to solicit help from the chef who tell julia roberts to 'come here', she walks towards his vat of LARD to dunk her hand, she gets scared, he says come on ya big baby, she dunks her hand and screams, they left that out

One of my most favourite films ever, seen it many times and never tire of watching. Casting was perfect too. Loved the whole film but the karaoke scene and final scene with George were my favourite. Loved Ruperts character George. Would love to see a part two. Hopefully with none of them dead like in Mamma Mia - Here We Go Again.

I love George's role. Such a scene stealer, he also had great chemistry with Jules. I also thought that they'd be together as lovers, that he was pretending to be gay just to be close with Jules. But it's so heartbreaki g that he's a gay. Dangg! Every scene in him was so funny hahaha

I wish Julianne was not so self deprecating.
She was the one Michael always wanted but she was hesitant, reserved; not letting go but not holding on either. Cameron Diazs character was convenient for him to marry because Julianne us inaccessible, independent and non-committal.

I do love this movie! I remember seeing on a cruise with my family when I was 14. My poor hormone-riddled teenage body couldn't handle it; I cried for the next 3 hours! I literally cried all through dinner with my family afterwards. Haha!

It's funny how much renewed appreciation this movie has gained. For years and years, I've had the dvd and just felt it was really underrated. Can't believe she was acting in the ferry with fans screaming at her. What a pro.
