Interesting fact - I don't want to wait by Paula Cole was not the first choice for the theme song by Kevin Williamson and Paul Stupin for Dawson's Creek. They wanted Hand in my pocket by Alanis Morrisette but it was a huge hit just a year or so prior and the WB/show couldn't get the rights to it so they had to fall back on their 2nd choice.
It worked out pretty well considering the song was everywhere once the show premiered, and became a top 10 billboard hit even though it was released 2 years prior and barely charted.

Thanks you SO very much MsMojo! I've been wanting to find this Dido song for years, but had nothing to go on except I used to watch Roswell (which I'd forgotten the title, in the 90's and love this song. I had no clue it was Dido until I watched your clip. Very grateful and thank you again!

Buffys badass theme song will ALWAYS be my favorite. Angel, One Tree Hill, Roswell, Dawsons Creek and The OC had iconic theme songs as well. OTH and Buffy introduced me to so many great musicians & OTH was the first US show to play an Adele song, Hometown Glory.

I was going to flip if the Charmed theme song wasnt mentioned. Its far more iconic than an honorable mention. A dope cover of The Smiths? Yes please. How Soon is Now? is a 90s staple and also appeared in The Craft.

I thought How Soon Is Now? on Charmed was by The Smiths? I reckon it was remade for the show but I truly never realized it!
Edit: Yes, definitely remade. I never got into Charmed too much. That's crazy.

Even though Charmed is not a teen drama, or rather, it has no teen characters, if it was going to appear in the video it should have made the list and be close to the top. The OC deserved to be way higher.

I didn't know we used to be Friends was ever used as a theme song. I first heard it on The O. C. Also. The One Tree Hill as #1? Buffy and The O. C needed to be higher.
