Moira is a LOT like my mom in the fake accent aspect!
My family has this running joke about her, bc of it. I've even warned my partners about it before they meet her! She tends to do it when she's first meeting someone. It used to REALLY embarrass me, but I've learned to laugh at it. Most ppl that meet her actually HOPE she'll do it, bc they're usually fascinated & want to hear it!
The WORST part: She claims she has NO idea she does it! It's not quite an English accent, but NOT American either. She's born & raised in Texas, BTW. She's Mexican-Italian descent. She's NEVER even been to England, but my dad's family is English & we think that's what she's imitating, despite not sounding English. Hopefully that makes sense. It's exhausting!

I think at first, Eugene wanted to help Dan with the script more than he did in the later seasons. Like he interfered more. Specially after knowing that he didn't want Annie and he went for Abby Elliott. Although I like them both, judging by what Abby did on SNL, it would've been more like a mockery of rich people instead of acting as if you really were one of them She's funny AF, but I think Annie gave Alexis humanity and dignity, regardless of her background.
I say this also by judging the season 2 finale with the Roses defending the Schitts. I think Dan made the show more touching and relatable after that. Eugene's humour is more picturesque and easy, whereas Dan's is more complex and deep.

I've told so many people to watch this show and I always tell them to give it at least 5 episodes and, if they're not into by then, maybe it's just not for them. Every single one of them has been glad they stuck it out. Personally, I loved it from the first scene. I've watched the entire series at least 6 times now and I still cry at the same scenes. It's legitimately one of the best shows ever made.

This series is what every sitcom should be, also while it sucks that it only lasted as much as it did, this is what makes it so special. Unlike other sitcoms like Friends and HIMYM that overstayed their welcome and ruined the legacy by having atrocious later season(s. Also while Catherine gets all the public praise and Eugene the critics, Annie absolutely stole the show on later seasons.

So I've watched the entire series at least 3 times and now I think it's time to watch it again. Its just so perfect. I was sceptical going in because I figured it would be the standard fish out if water plot, but its genuinely just a staggering piece of art. It doesn't fall on the tired sitcom tropes that you've come to expect- it zigs when you think it will zag. I love it so much.

A scene that makes me cry every time is when Moira shows up with the Jazzigals at Alexis' graduation. Alexis' smile is every kid when they see there parents at a play, etc. It reminded me of my mother who worked and was barely able to attend events like that but once showed up to the Christmas school play and saw me in the Christmas Carol.

If anyone deserved an Emmy, its Noah Reid. He is a broadway performer, Actor and Musician. The guy is straight but played a gay role really well. Davids role would not have been what it is without Noah Reid as Patrick. I cant believe he didnt win. Dan Levy to me gave us a typical gay guy act on TV.

My dad died a few months ago. A week or so later I started watching Schitts Creek. It was an escape and helped me through a horrible time in my life. Ive watched the entire series a few times now. I wish I could tell Dan Levy how his show helped me get through many rough days. Thank you Dan.

I heard a story from someone I know that Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy were really open to suggestions on-set, even from extras or background characters. It's so great to hear that even such successful veterans are willing to learn from others!

Watched the final episode last night. Wanted the show to just keep going & going. We found a 'lift' at the end of every episode. Numerous 'laugh-out-louds'. Brilliant writing and acting. A bright spot in the middle of a Pandemic. Miss it already.

I LOVED Stevies scene singing the last song in Cabaret. As Stevies character is quiet/shyish /not super confident and you see the shock and surprise in her face at the end like I just did that ugh I loved it I actually was tearing up for her!

Alexis stated her album was critically reviewed.
Notice she didn't say critically acclaimed. Hahahahaha
Plus, I love how Moira IMMEDIATELY nudges Jocelyn with her heel to indicate to say, Told you her singing's a hot mess.

I knew about Kim Basinger buying a small town. In fact in the first episode that came to mind. I remember many residents didn't like her owning their town. I admit. This is a cute show and they cast complement each other.

This is one of those shows where if you lost any of those characters, the show would not be as good as it is. It's rare that a TV show has so many strong characters that you just couldn't do without any of them.

She said Katherine OHara shed real tears during simply the best but I think they meant Dan. I didnt see Katherine crying, the camera wasnt on her, but Dans eyes sure looked shiney.

Shouldn't have taken Emmy awards to bring this series to the public eye. It is the perfect human story in every way. And yes, we all need further episodes.

The only thing that tarnishes the perfection that is SC is the actor who plays Roland. He's always very unlikable in everything he plays.

I'm surprised no one talks about how the name Rosebud is a euphemism that continues with the Schitt's Creek name.
