Honestly I don't see why people are all up in arms about smoking being mentioned or depicted. Like i understand respecting people by not smoking around them, having designated smoking areas etc but why are we putting a warning on something just bc someone pulls out a cigarette once? Seems like a lot especially when there are lots of other places that attention could go

I'm surprised that One Coarse Meal didn't make the list. That episode involved Mr. Krabs mentally tormenting Plankton and driving him to attempt suicide while Krabs laughs about it. Considering how many kids have actually committed suicide due to being bullied, I'm surprised that parents didn't boycott SpongeBob Squarepants over that episode.

I've always wondered why it's a stereotype that black people like fried chicken. We all eat the heck out of it, around here. It's not really controversial to suggest ANYONE in the south might want some fried chicken, in my experience.

I was a kid raised in the 90s, and my mom would not let me watch Rocko's Modern Life or Ren and Stimpy. She deemed them too inappropriate. And apparently I have turned into my mother because I don't let my children watch SpongeBob because I think it's disgusting and inappropriate.

Smoking was not commonplace or fashionable in the 1990s. Nor was it at any point in the 1980s. The folks smoking in Ren & Stimpy were clearly made to appear as if they were from the 1940s or 50s. I mean, since 1974, I think I have only seen about 3 people smoking pipes.

It is interesting to see how history plays out when it comes to art. It was definitely different times. Plus, it was not uncommon to see tons of animated characters smoking. Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Lumpy and Pop from HTF and even Mickey Mouse are guilty of this.

This video is terrible. None of these are offensive or inherently wrong. I saw this on Snapchat and was so flabbergasted by the fake outrage I had to look this video up and add my 2 cents. Seriously, this was some bottom tier lazy work.

As a kid, I just thought the dont drop em joke from _SpongeBob_ was a reference on soap being slippery and people would have a hard time grabbing it or slipping on it and seriously hurting themselves.
