I watched Winx Club as a kid, but as I was born in 2002, and I was watching it when I was fairly young, I do not remember a lot of the show. Despite that, I knew many parts of the show were different/off even with only partially remembering. However, I really love the The Winx Saga. It's catered towards an older audience and the stories and characters are so compelling. I don't think this show would be good if they tried to carbon copy everything as the Winx Club is a show for kids. At that, this is also only the first season, so I ask everyone to stay in for the ride. Characters and storylines that did not make it to this season, could make it to the next. The original Winx Club has 8 seasons. They have so much material to work with! I know I'm staying tuned for season 2.
Personally, I like that they downgraded Sky. I am not all for his character on The Winx Saga, and having Bloom be with a prince kind of devalues her. I don't want people to like/respect her because she's in kahoots with the prince. I think having Sky instead just being the son of an important person lets her shine more. Also with the white people thing, I noticed that as well, but I'd like to think they just casted who was best for the roles and these people turned out to be it. Maybe there will be more POC next season, or maybe not. All I can tell you is that I really like their choices.
Also I just figured out Musa's actress is of Middle Eastern, Western European, and Jewish descent. I think she is considered POC as well not just Aisha. Middle Eastern and Jewish people are not portrayed on TV all too much/well. Give the casters some credit there. I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with casting someone like her over an East Asian person. They both have dark hair and look similar.

I initially dropped the Series after one Episode, beeing really disappointed. A friend of mine who never watched the Original forced me to watch the first 3 Episodes and i guess trough her as a Fan i could see some of the good points, even tho it's still not enough to make me watch it.
One part is that its called winx saga even though apart from names of characters and places they have nothing really in common. Another Part is that even as a standalone most of the main Characters are just unlikable (especially Bloom, Stella and Terra) or i find them akward because i think the character and their plot is not well written (Beatrix or Riven for example. Dont even let me start with things like Stellas Clothes or the World Building which doesn't really feel fleshed out for me.
And i mean this is Winx Club related again but if the favourite Character is not adapted to ones liking that alone is a hugh minus (not everthing about Skys adaption is bad, but Roxy doesnt even exist tho. Tho i will give the show a pass on that since Roxy only came in Season 4, so maybe she will be added later on)

I think people dont realize that the show isnt called winx club, its called fate: the winx saga. What i mean is: it isnt supposed to be a remake. Its a new show, with winx club as a base and with references to it. Also, if it was exactly the same, same plot, same colors, same age audience, it would be boring. It could only not be boring if it were a movie. A show needs to have that suspense that feeling of not knowing whats gonna happen and this not only has that but also has that nostalgic feeling. With its references it makes you be like e OMG I REMEMBER THAT, and with the base you have the characters and a little of the plot, even tho theyre not exactly the same. I also like how its made for teenagers/adults bc we are the ones that watched winx club when younger. At the end i just wanna say stop criticizing it for not being exactly like winx club and give it a shot bc not only has what i just pointed out but its well made, believe me bc i was also weird bout it when the trailer of the first season came out

Its a completely different show. Aisha wasnt introduced until later on. Flora was suppose to be in season 1. I dont like thAt the iconic trix sisters have been made into 1 character. I dont like that bloom and Stella arent bestie. She has bestie relationship with Aisha instead. Stella is the reason she got into the school and found out about her powers. They completely changed their characters. Aisha, bloom, and Stella I notice person changes the most with them. Silly love triangle too. And where is Brandon?

first you're spitting the show in half the wrong way; its 2004-2007 (original story) and 2009(2012+) from S4 onward. The og story ends after the first movie not at S4.
Second 4kids is an alternative version of the show so don't take it seriously.
Third winx club had really dark moments (M1-S4) we're kind of familiar with fate already!
Fourth and finally winx did not end in 2019, new seasons and movies are in production.

I was a kid when I watched a few episodes of Winx club might been strange for a boy my age but theres a good explanation I was fascinated with magic as a kid maybe because I watch the harry potter movies I dont know. But I will say this show does have a lot of promise specially with bloom and skys relationship that was one of the things I think carried Blume story maybe because I Like it when people find their other half still nothing too big just giving my opinion

Winx Club 100%. I would wake up early on Saturday mornings just to watch the show even when it was moved to the 7am time slot before Nick had the rights. I absolutely hated some of the changes in Nick's version but at least it was true to source material. I don't feel like this Netflix version will last much longer as the original fans won't be happy with the character personality changes, magic changes, making everyone how Bloom was with no transformation, ect.

Idk why but the sky not being a prince actually annoyed me, also Stella's mother is a B and I love it when she tells her to piss off. SPOILER! (Also I like her arch. I agree that she's a better friend in the animated show but in season 2 she does actually step up a lot and she gets more development) I gotta say tho I rly like Musa's personality and SPOILER AGAIN how badass Flora is, and also I love the LGBTQ rep in s2

I really want Tecna, Timmy, and Brandon. And yeah, while I agree the I want the group to be just as diverse as winx club Im also happy they added terra. Hopefully flora is here in season two but I love the body adversity terra adds. I will agree I hate how they made Stella a mean girl and took away musas sonic based powers but I love the empath stuff. I also really want her and riven.

I truthfully think they tried to be like the shows that were coming out at the time like riverdale, I would have preferred if they would have stuck with the light hearted bright wonderful fashion and made for girls you know lol this could have not had anything to do with winx and it would have been it's own good show.

When I was watching this show I kept getting frustrated every scene. They just kept getting everything wrong. Fate literally has nothing do to with Winx Club. Half the characters are missing and half of their names are wrong. Biggest let down ever, we dont want another Riverdale. We want the orginal Winx Club

I disagree with your number one point. They did have other racially diverse characters like Dane and Marco and just because they arent one of the fairies doesnt mean they didnt create a diverse cast. Other things that could have been put in where the three schools, the headmistress and the plot line.

i prefer winx club its original plus winx saga is not really like the show i prefer winx club and i dont like winx saga so much bloom's transformation on winx saga is boring like only having fire wings instead of winx club fully transformation so i prefer winx club

Beatrix might just be the FIRST villain. We don't know if the trix are going to come into play in future seasons. ;)

I just watched it and I'm quite disappointed. Yes, the story is good, but not what I expected. Techna is NOT there, the Trix are NOT there, the rest of the specialists are NOT there, there are NO transformations (except for Bloom. really disappointing.

I am glad that they started adding different body types it was nice not to have girls with teeny tiny waist and crop tops and that girls can be specialist because i am not a glittery tiny waist tpye if girl and the saga is more inclusive

1: 49 not entirely true. there are male wizards in the cartoon and male fairies appear at the end of the first movie, but there are indeed no female specialists in the original cartoon.

Msmojo. Actually in the original winx riven is with 1 one of the trix sisters in the beginning. So they kept that detail true to the original. Musa and riven get together later on.
