Julie's performance in Duet for One is one of her best. Its totally left out here. I do wish that the rest of the cast was as up to their roles. Liam Neeson & Rupert Everet put in good work. But others struggled to find a balance between portraying their detachment from her character & portraying something in their character. But the list is about her best performance. That role took depth, honestly, a willingness to look unattractive, just many skills. Leaving it totally off is just wrong.
You also did not mention the Julie Andrews hour. Or the many specials she did. If you weren't living at the time, her shows were in a class by themselves & just pushed the envelope of variety shows. I think the music videos of today owe a lot to her dedication to hang in there until its right. That also needs mention as well.

It is worth noting that soon after Victor/Victoria, Andrews had throat surgery to remove a cyst from her vocal cords. As a consequence, she lost her singing voice: that is why she moved to speaking roles. Several surgeries to repair the damage and lots of vocal training have allowed her to regain some of her ability, but it will never be what it was it once was.

Dame Julie Andrews wanted to be the singing voice of Audrey Hepburn's character Eliza Doolittle because she played the role of her on stage with Rex Harrison as Henry Higgins and Stanley Holloway as her father Alfie Doolittle on both stage and screen. To me it's gonna be heartbreaking when she like Christopher plummer leaves us forever

I absolutely love her in Darling Lily!
I think these should have been considered:
Stephanie Anderson in Duet for One
Jerusha Bromley in Hawaii
Catherine in One Special Night
Felicity Marshwood in Relative Values (Good Honorable Mention Film)

I think you missed one here, HAWAII. This 1966 movie was another non-singing role. She was really good as Jerusalem Bromley Hale. It was by all means not a glamorous role, but she was a good anchor and moral compass to Max von Sydows pious Abner Hale.

She has also appears in Hawaii, with Richard Harris, Torn Curtain with
Paul Newman and The Tamarind Seed with Omar
Sharif.
Ms Andrews has co-starred with most of the male
Hollywood's Handsome Actors in the career

Julie is fabulous! Another honorable mention would be Alfred Hitchcock's Torn Curtain with Julie Andrews and Paul Newman. A different role for her, full of espionage and excitement. Anything she touches turns to gold!

I just wish we got to see Julie on the big screen as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, but then she wouldn't have gotten her Oscar for her role in Mary Popins. Walt Disney did have an eye for talent.

I Have Confidence wasnt in the stage version of TSOM, but was added to the movie to give Maria more emotional depth, and to give Julie Andrews something even more to sing. Thank goodness.

even though JA has tons of memorable roles I think when that sad day comes when she dies I think people will mostly remember her roles in Mary Poppins and The Sound Of Music

As a child, I imagine Julie Andrews as the English mom I never had. Seriously. A brilliant Talent who seems like she would be lovely to sit down and have tea with.

The Sound of Music was the first Movie musical I saw, and Dame Julie Andrews performance was mesmerizing. That movie got me to fall in love with musicals.

I'm 24 and I am a huge Julie Andrews fan! I've been watching TSOM and other movies Julie was in since I was 5yrs old. well. that is except for Shrek
reply

I am still getting used to the fact that Julie Andrews and John Cleese are married with Cameron Diaz as their daughter in the animated world. :)
reply

The only reason I watched Bridgerton, is because I heard she was the narrator. There's something about her voice. so soothing, full of life.
reply

Ahhhhh, Dame Julie Andrews. One of the best actresses that graced the industry.
You forgot to include her voice in Aquaman.

my favorite performances are Fraulien Maria Queen Clarise and Mary Poppins those are my opinions in my Top Julie Andrews Performances
reply

Well well, a MsMojo list that actually make sense. But please note that Cinderella had a life long before she became a Disney princess
reply

Bridgerton doesn't deserve a spot on this list. Any ANY of her performances is more relevant and better than Lady Whistledown >: V
reply

Julie Andrews actually nearly turned down the role of Maria fearing it was to similar to Mary Poppins. Good job she hadn't.
reply

A top 10 best Christopher Plummer performances should be on the line up of next videos! He was slept on as an amazing icon.
reply

Decent list but you left out Duet For One, Our Sons and STAR. All much more noteworthy performances than some of those listed.
reply

she aged pretty well over the years. it's hard to imagine without her and her influence at the time. truly a golden gem.
reply

Its amazing that she rehearsed and filmed Cinderella while she was still performing on stage in My Fair Lady
reply

Queen Clarrise is definitely my favorite role of hers. I seriously hope that we'll get Princess Diaries 3.
reply

I love Julie Andrews in Hitchcock's Torn Curtain opposite Paul Newman. Quite an underrated film IMO.
