Futurama has several cry worthy moments. Sure, you can't top Seymore, but one of my favorite moments involves Fry's brother, Yancy Jr.
Fry always thought Yancy hated Fry and was so jealous of him that he assumed his identity and went on to live out all Frys dreams. Only to find that in reality the Phillip Fry he was looking for was actually his nephew, whom Yancy named after the brother he missed and loved so much.

reply

Seymor waiting for Fry was indeed the saddest. Futurama may be a funny show but even it displays wholesome moments we'll never forget. Jurassic Bark hit the most for me.
Uncle Iroh singing for his late son Lu Ten is another too. For me, it also makes me think not only does Iroh wish he could've saved his only son, but it's what he's trying to do for his nephew Zuko.

reply

as a child I always liked tales of ba sing sai and felt for a filler episode it was well written, as an adult I watch it and realise how heartbreaking irohs episode truly is helping everyone he can no matter how small to make up for the son he never could help. and it only makes it hurt worse when zuko betrays him knowing he thinks of him as his son.
reply

In Avatar,
I think the most saddening moment was when azula and zuko fought their last agni kai and that sad music played.
.
And, the battle ended with azula getting totally unstable, that moment was when it all came crashing down on her, all that childhood trauma and abusive parents that poor girl couldnt bear all that

I would've put a scene from Justice League Unlimited. The episode where Mongul put Superman in a dream world and he had to sacrifice his heart's desire. Imagine having to leave everything you ever wanted, in his case a family and home, he broke into tears as he told his son he wasn't real. The man of steel was brought to tears.

dracula's death from gramonstrous tales (2013-2019)
flight man's past about his parents from flight man (2010-2018, reboot)
kitty remembers his grandfather from kitty tales (2009-2011: 2017)
grandpa morton logan's death from the logan family (1999-)

The original Teen Titans show. Raven vs Trigon (her father. Fathers are kind, Fathers protect. I was protected by the Monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. This is my home, and you are not welcomed here. Azarath Metrion Zinthos! And proceeds to destroy her father and stop him from destroying the world.

Could have added that Toca life stories episode called Ritas yard sale there was a scene when Rita was crying because of her dads death and sold something important to someone I cant remember his name and tries to get it back but ends up in tears

Iroh is one of my favorite avatar the last Airbender characters. He's gentle, kind, wise, understanding and strong. I like how he treats his nephew Zuko with kindness despite how nasty Zuko was to him for a while.

#2 Definitely deserves to be in Top 3. They had a list of Top 10 Heartbreaking Moments from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend Of Korra, and this moment was #1 on that list.
reply

I always and I mean always cry at Uncle Irohs song even before ik his voice actor passed and that was his tribute. Well I was a kid so I didnt know the first few times around.

The mother's day episode hits HARD! Mama died from cardiac arrest following a botched surgery to fix a leaky heart valve. I haven't had a mother to give a gift to, either.
reply

Definitely the right choice with Iroh, and notably all the people he helps in the story are all young men and boys. Clearly this was all about being a father again
reply

Im sorry but I believe that it is a travesty that Iroh is second he should be first because that made me cry and I rarely cry from cartoons.
reply

I'm a huge Futarama fan and watch it whenever it's on TV, but whenever Jurassic Bark comes on I just can't watch it. It's just so sad. :'(
reply

Justice League Unlimited Epilouge episode where Terry finds out that Bruce Wayne is his father and Ace dies of a brain anyerisum
reply

Imagine if there was an song for a new special Toby Grinches Charlie Brown so here is one song and that is Remember your Mother
reply

#9 Reminds me of when this border collie dog named Daisy my family had passed away from breast cancer. I miss that dog so much.
reply

The moment when Charlie Brown asks if Janice is going to die is priceless. But at the same exact time good grief Charlie Brown.
reply

I saw Iroh as the thumbnail before I even clicked the video and got that feeling in the throat before you would start crying
reply

That dog made me more emotional than anything on this list. Only #2 comes close. Jeez, Futurama of all cartoons broke me.
reply

Named my precious boy Seymour and we had 16 wonderful years together. Now I'm the one stuck waiting to see him again
reply

when it came to what happened with Brian, i was honestly happy. then when they brought him back i stopped watching
reply

Urgh, that Seymour episode. Who knew one of the funniest cartoons out there could make me feel so upset and sad?
reply

I saw Iroh as number two and wondered how they're going to top that one. Then it shows up, and I instantly tear up.
reply

ok, i'm not gonna cry for Iroh, i can do this! (0. 01 seconds into the cry i start crying)
no one can resist

reply

When I first saw Tales of Ba Sing Se I thought it was happy but when uncle Iroh sings leaves from the vines I cried
reply

There are so many heartbreaking moments in Bojack Horseman, and I cannot believe not a single one was mentioned.
