just to be that guy: there's a difference between a fake name, a stage name, birth name and nickname. for all intents and purposes, a stage name can be any made up name or parts of your birth name used publicly. A shortened version of your birth name does count as a real name, so does adopting your middle name or a childhood nickname as your given name. I go by a shortened version of my middle name, it's name i always use to introduce myself, it's not technically my actual birth name, because it's a shortened version, but it's still my real name. Even though Miley was born Destiny Hope, she most likely always introduces herself as Miley, cuz that's the name she grew up with. Lady Gaga, on the other hand, clearly didn't grow up with that name, just like Miley didn't grow up with the names Hannah Montana and Ashley O. Different situation with Nicki Minaj, where just the spelling of her last name was altered.
