Top 10 Stars You Forgot Were in Musicals Yule Brenner in The King & I at the McCormick Theater in Chicago and Joel Grey in The Grand Tour, also in Chicago (I think at The Shubert Theater. The first play my parents took me to was The Unsinkable Molly Brown with Debbie Reynolds when I was around 7 or 8 years old. It was an outdoor theater in Kansas City, MO; I still remember it! That was my beginning of living the Theater!\r\n

Joe MacIntyre (NKOTB) was in Waitress just a few years ago on Broadway. Christopher Jackson from the TV show Bull was part of the original cast of Hamilton. Plus also in Hamilton is Okieriete Onaodowan he is from Station 19 on ABC. There is alot of big named people in the O. G. cast in Hamilton. Jason Alexander, Matthew Broderick, Katie Holmes to just name a few more!

I was invited to see How to Succeed when Daniel Radcliffe was there. It is not my favorite show by far, but he did a really good job in it. The screams when he first on stage were thunderous. I'm positive they quickly turned off all the mics after his line so that the wouldn't all spike in that fees seconds of screaming.

Most famous? Definitely seeing Hugh Jackman in Boy from Oz and I will eventually see him again in Music Man. I have my tickets for it, we will need to wait and see just where those dates end up landing when it comes to the reopening of Broadway. Currently it's meant to happen in April 2022, but we will see.

At least three of the kids from Stranger Things started out on stage (Gaten Matarazzo in Les Mis, Caleb McLaughlin in The Lion King, and Sadie Sink in Annie, and Tom Holland was an amazing Billy Elliott as a kid. Not sure being in Chicago should count, they're all about stunt casting celebrities.

Shouldn't #8 be pronounced BEN-wa? I'm not familiar with her, but that's how I've heard Benoist pronounced. Then again, sometimes a name can be pronounced differently by different people who have that name, so maybe the pronunciation here is correct?

Sorry but Nick Jonas was AWFUL in the 25th anniversary performance of Les Mis. He was on stage with some of the most talented people in the west end and stuck out like a sore thumb, its almost hard to watch.
reply

Fun fact. Nick Jonas became Marius, because the guy, who produce les miserable. Promised him, that he was gonna play that role one day. When he meet nick as a child, when he playd Gavroche in Les miserable.
reply

No, I'm sorry. They should all be bumped down one and Hugh Jackman should be number 1. I had to explain to SO MANY PEOPLE why he was a really good fit for Les Mis, because they all said Wolverine can't sing.

Yay! Im so glad Zachary Levi was on the list! Hes so underrated. I do have to say, you guys missed Hugh Jackman. He did Oklahoma and he won a Tony for The Boy From Oz.
reply

Kevin Richardson from the Backstreet Boys starred as Billy Flynn in Chicago, whilst he took a break from the band.
And he also worked at Disney World before BSB.

reply

You're definitely missing Brendon Urie in Kinky Boots and Darren Criss in Hedwig and the angry inch. And Wayne Brady could have been an honorable mention too.

Jesse L. Martin, Tay Diggs, and Idina Menzel all in the original cast of Rent.
Daveed Diggs and Chris Jackson Hamilton.
Betty Buckley CATS

I would have added Audra McDonald. I've only seen her in the TV show Private Practice and the Beauty and the Beast remake, but she has also been on Broadway.

Biggest name I saw on stage: Hugh Jackman, Oklahoma! in London in 1999. Second biggest name: Richard Chamberlain, My Fair Lady, Paris in 1995.
reply

I think Tom Holland should be on this list. Tom Holland got his start playing Billy Elliott in the musical Billy Elliott on the West End.
reply

Its just me and I dont tend to offend no one, but I find it quite unusual for certain celebrities to be on Broadway. Again, its just me.
reply

Hugh Jackman! Played Gaston for years, Curly in Oklahoma and Peter Allen in the Boy from Oz. Wolverine has more than just claws!
reply

For SJP, you forgot to mention that she is slated to star opposite Broderick again in a new show on Broadway called Plaza Suite!
